Throughout this months, a totally different year that took everyone by surprise; and the fashion industry is one of the sectors that has faced multiple challenges since the beginning of this confinement, and that a few months later, the same industry has recognized that during this time of pause the impact that the industry has with mass production of clothing, accessories and footwear.
Due to the pandemic virus, many countries are struggling to keep supplies for health staff such as face masks and hand sanitizer. Luckily, the fashion industry has had the initiative to show its support and help their communities worldwide.
In the past 3 weeks, we’ve witnessed the slow growth of a heartbreaking virus that has taken the lives of almost 40,000 people around the globe (37,538 to be more specific). And many organizations have started to move to help and provide medical material to local or national hospitals and health staff.
Let’s leave behind for one second the health issue that the human society is facing and let’s cheer up with some fashion inspiration. For this Spring/Summer season 2020 many designers had similar proposals in their fashion shows such as Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Oscar de la Renta, Dior, Fendi, just to mention a few.
According to the official statements of brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, Armani, Max Mara and more decided to cancel or postpone their resort shows and several events regarding their newest fall-winter collections.
The past three months of this 2020 have had big ups and downs, starting with the conflict between the U.S. and Irak, followed by the climate change crisis where Greta Thunberg raised her voice to awake the population of this unreversed problem. And then suddenly a virus escaped from Wuhan and flew all over China, followed by South Korea and so on, until it made it to America, and now all industries are being affected by this pandemic virus.
