Embrace your Grey Hair! Don’t run from it!
Okay, let's get the scientific stuff out of the way first. Why do we go grey as humans? The human hair loses pigment cells as we age, therefore a lot of the melanin in our hair follicles die, resulting in a transparent hair appearance (white, grey) hair strands.
Dear, Katt Williams
I don't think Shannon Sharpe could even begin to imagine what was about to go down on his podcast, "Club Shay Shay," when Katt Williams sat down. Sure, they probably talked before the cameras started rolling, did the typical dos and don'ts, checked in on each other's health, and maybe even went over a few of the questions. But when the cameras started rolling, Katt Williams began to go off.
New Year New You?
The definition of a resolution is a firm commitment to do something or not do something -- therefore, with New Year's officially being today, I wanted to know what are your thoughts on New Year's resolutions? I'll share my views on them -- for starters, I do not think they are stupid. I actually love goal setting and also realizations of awareness when something doesn't serve you anymore, to stop doing it. However, I do believe that these things don't have to wait until a whole new calendar year comes around to begin action. For example, if it's September 6 and I realize that eating unhealthy is causing me to gain weight and is just overall not good, why wait until January 1st of the next year to take action?
Diddy or Did he?Dear, Sean Combs
Sean Combs, known in the hip hop community as one of the most influential pioneers and legends of the culture, is recognized for his involvement with the careers of Biggie Smalls, Faith Evans, Lil' Kim, and many more acts. He founded the record label Bad Boy Records in 1993, which housed many platinum-selling artists. His discerning ear for music and business acumen have garnered him numerous awards and financial gains.
I’ve read a lot of memoirs in 2023. "Will," hands down, is my favorite memoir of 2023. I was born in the 90s, and my first introduction to Will Smith was on the show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." It took me until the late 90s to really understand who he was as I entered early adolescence. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, specifically West Philadelphia, although I didn't spend most of my days on the playground. Therefore, it was really cool to hear some of the references in the book that I am so familiar with - Wynnefield, Overbrook, and some of the Philly slang he was referring to wasn't foreign to me at all!
About me: Thank you for lending me your time and your eyes. My name is Samuel. I’m a three-time bestselling author. I am a writer, journalist, and owner of Samuel’s House of Art, an art company that produces and creates fine arts such as poetry. I am also the writer for Samuel’s Thoughts, the blog! My niche is always 'addressing the elephant' in the room, so on this blog, you will find current events, trending articles, and educational content. I love writing and art, as it has been my passion since I was a kid! Here, you will find full articles and my poetry 📝🐘
With the cost of living steadily increasing, what adjustments have you made to combat inflation? Many Americans are crossing their fingers and hoping it goes down, while others are working 2-3 jobs for 10-16 hours a day just to stay afloat. Some have drastically cut expenses in areas they don't need as much. With so many different ways to combat inflation, my thoughts are to work towards ensuring that when it comes around again - because it will - you will be less impacted than before. This means being financially stronger than you currently are. It can include working towards building a savings account, making sure you have multiple streams of income at all times, and adding investments to your portfolio. Whatever getting financially stronger looks like to you, make sure it gets done, because it's not a matter of "if" inflation is going to hit again, but "when". Be ready for it and lessen the blow.
The Unprofessional Barber 💈 / Hair Stylist 💇♀️
I know we've all had our fair share of moments with unprofessional barbers for males 💈 or hair stylists for ladies. Hands down, barbers have to be some of the most unprofessional entrepreneurs. They are either late ⏰, overbooking themselves, and granted, barbers are human and have lives. I get it. But where's the compensation when they are running late? When they have to cancel, can I at least get $5.00 deducted for the inconvenience? 'My bad' just isn't enough, especially when haircuts have now risen to upwards of $100.00. And the nerve of some barbers to have you book ahead, some even making you put a deposit 💵 down to secure their time isn't wasted, but then they turn around and waste the clients' time. It's really disgusting, and a lot of barbers don't get held accountable because they are 'nice' and 'sharp' with the clippers, but that doesn't outweigh the inconvenience!! Fire your unprofessional 💈 barbers!!
The Attack on Marriage’s
As 2023 is concluding, I wanted to touch on the topic of marriage. If you've been reading and watching the news, you are seeing celebrities getting divorced left and right. It seems like there's a dark cloud over marriages. And personally, I'm sure many of us know that "happy" uncle and aunt who have been married for 30 years, "suddenly" calling it quits. What seems to be going on with marriages in 2023?
The Person not the Parent
How old were you when you found out who your parents were? Not who mommy is, not who Daddy is, but who they were as humans outside of being a parent? I vividly remember my experience. When you are a kid, you really only see your parents as mom and dad in parent form. You see them love, protect, and provide for you. But as you get older, you start to notice their mannerisms towards other adults, other people, and sometimes even towards you, their own child.
On the eve before her memoir is set to be released, it's only right that I share my thoughts on Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada Pinkett Smith is an actress, writer, mother, and wife. However, as of lately, she's only been linked to being a toxic, narcissistic, emotional abuser.
