The rain pitter patters on my heart In the dark all alone The coldness has my soul Encased in its icy grip One after another

Words flow from my mind to my pen Thick and syrupy like dark molasses With its sweetness of truth Love, hate, and the seasons
Can I sit by the window And stare in to the dark While listening to the rain And having you deep in my heart Will it leap when I think of you
As I draw in a deep breath My lungs fill with your smell Still lingering on Like some forgotten tale From years past I clutch the pillow
This big king bed Feels lonely without you Even though I only spent one night With you where you are It seems like So long ago
Whenever a storm approaches I think of you And pull out that old picture That I keep close to my heart The edges are weathered and torn
I hear an angel calling "Songbird, where are you?" And I look around Knowing in my soul She calls For me An Angel of the Moon

Here is to the Wild Rose In the brush and bramble Where friends call me by name And are at ease to pass the handle The only place where
Sometimes I feel afloat On a tiny raft In the middle of the ocean With no rescue in sight Every time I see another ship
