Band of the Raven
Kiara closed her eyes once again and focused on the empty space. Within a few moments the sound of water flooded back into her ears and footsteps pounded above her. She opened her eyes quickly and gasped loudly for air. Her body fell over itself as she grabbed her chest. She panted frantically to regain her composure. You need to relax before our heart gives out. Valkyria’s voice echoed. "It would be a shame if we didn’t even make it out of this cellar."

Band of the Raven
The cellar was dark with barrels of ale, and mead stacked to the ceiling. The stone floor sent shivers through Kiara’s body with every step. She took deep breaths in preparation, then found a chair she could sit on next to a pillar holding the building up. She leaned the chair against the beam and adjusted herself. Her eyes closed and her mind slowly faded back. All she could hear was the sound of footsteps above her and the dripping of water leaking from the walls. Focus. Don’t be afraid. Killian is nearby. He will keep everyone safe. She thought to herself as she released another long drawn out breathe. The dripping in her ears faded, and the footsteps above her vanished. Her eyes slowly opened and revealed an abyss of darkeness around her. Purple and black waves flowed gently passed as a wall stood in front of her. She stood and slowly approached it. Long steel bars were lined vertically as far as the eye could see to her left and right. Beyond the bars, the sound of chains rattling and shifting.

Band of the Raven
As the next day came and went, Darin and Brendiel readied themselves for their training while Kiara sat with Mira through the evening, giving small bursts of energy as she struggled to keep the barrier up. Brendiel walked up behind them as the sun hovered above the trees.

Band of the Raven
“Get off your ass and get some food before the rain takes hold of the pot!” Thomas cried out towards a large figure huddled beneath a broken tree trunk. The hulking man grunted and moved slowly with his cape over his head. He stood nearly eight feet tall and was said to be built like stone. “Are you that worried about being wet?” Thomas continued shaking his head as he watched. “You have killed countless people without any care or thought in the world. Yet when the gods cry you cower like a puppy.” He looked down at his already made bowl and began shoveling the sloppy stew of potatoes and what leftover meat they had into his mouth. The broth dripped down his chin while he nodded in approval of his own concoction. “I must say,” He exclaimed with a smile growing on his face. “I think I have outdone myself this time Garal!” The big ogre-like man grabbed the large spoon and poured his share into a nearby bowl.

An Unknown Enemy
An unknown Enemy “Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But they have never seen what I have seen. Nor heard what I have heard.” I spoke softly as I placed the mug of ale against the cool silver bar top. I rubbed the froth from my face and lifted my hand, gesturing the barkeep for another. “We are an ignorant bunch, us humans. Thinking we could rule the heavens above. Like gods among the rest. Damn hubris.” Another mug slid over to me across the smooth steel and crashed into the many drinks I had consumed prior. We rose as kings here. We conquered without hesitation. Eventually, we grew bored of our ‘primitive’ living, and looked to the stars. We thought we could take what wasn’t ours.” A hand was placed on my shoulder and gently pulled my shoulders around. In a drunken haze, I was able to make out the face of my captain. Her eyes were a shade of caramel, and her long blonde hair was tied up in a bun.
