Joe was flying his P-51 through the clouds when he spotted the Messerschmitt 109 below him. Joe dove his Mustang down and opened up on the 109, but the pilot spotted him in time and quickly dove to the right, and Joe just missed him. Joe did a hard bank to get on the tail of the 109, but this pilot was skilled and was able to maneuver, making it challenging for Joe to get behind and open up with his .50 calbre guns.
