The Empty Train Ride
A sudden jolt awoke a sleeping man. He looked around and saw he was on a train, which seemed strange to him as he could not remember boarding a train. He looked out the window and saw vast open prairies that looked undeveloped. He looked around on the train and noticed it looked old, like pictures he had seen in the old west. The train seemed to be going very fast, especially for a train from the old west. He estimated the train must have been going over 100 miles an hour, judging by how quickly the landscape passed by the window. The man then realized he did not remember his name or where he was from, but he thought he was from the twenty-first century and not living in the old west. He looked out the window and saw his reflection. The face he saw looked like a man in his forties, clean-shaven with blondish hair. He did not recognize the face that was staring back at him. He checked his pockets but could not find a wallet, keys, or money. He didn't even have a train ticket.

Jack took a quick peek outside, not expecting to see anything, but out of the corner of his eye, he saw a man running about 30 meters from his house. His neighbors, Richard and Jessica Henderson, resided on the acreage next door, and their house was about 50 meters away. Jack saw the person was fleeing away from the Henderson home, so he turned around to find his phone when he heard a loud screeching sound. He glanced back outside, and sitting on the roof was a barn owl. Jack turned back into his room when he heard, "If you value your life, you should leave now. Runaway and never return."

Uncommon Syndromes
Uncommon Syndromes, that I am afflicted with 1. Foreign Accent Syndrome This syndrome happens when you suddenly start to speak with a different accent. It is most common after a head injury or stroke. I had a head injury when I was 4 years old, after I fell down the stairs. I never really thought much about my head injury until as I got older, people would ask me “What is your nationality?” I would tell them, I was Canadian and they would usually ask, “But where were you born?” I would tell them Canada and they would usually ask, “Where were your parents born?”, and I would tell them Canada. So, they would usually say, “Oh, so you’re Canadian.” Being a polite Canadian I would never tell them what I was thinking … “That’s what I said the first time, you moron!”
