Midsummer's Eve
It is Midsummer's Eve, Yrfanis thought to herself. A time when elves celebrated the land, and of love. There would be much dancing and exchanging of gifts. And time spent with one's lover. And I have no lover. Yrfanis smoothed her green blouse, thin, nearly transparent. It left her arms and shoulders bare, and her middle also. She also wore short green breeches, cut off above the knees, and sandals. And nothing else. She smiled, looking at herself in the pool. She saw an elven woman, green haired and green-eyed, with light tan skin. She had curvy legs, firm bottom, a slender waist, and small but firm breasts above. A pretty face, framed by brilliant green hair. A comely woman, she knew, and yet without a lover. She sighed, thinking of her Drow elf friend Aunrae, who had saved her from death, and other, worse things, but a few weeks before. She picked up a gift she had for Aunrae, an armband of silver, with obsidian strips and purple garnet gems. The armband was beautiful, like her friend. The black obsidian matched her skin, the silver her hair, the garnets her eyes. Such lustrous skin, Yrfanis thought. She wished to touch, to caress that skin, she thought absentmindedly, then stopped. Surely not, she thought. Aunrae preferred the company of women, she knew, yet surely she had no such thoughts about Yrfanis! Yrfanis smiled ruefully, and walked out of the clearing, towards the Midsummer's Eve fest.
