I am someone who is lucky enough to be able to travel and vacation frequently. I will be posting reviews of hotels, parks, attractions, and generally anywhere I travel to.
Pizza is one of the most beautiful foods that has ever been created in the history of mankind. It is something that done poorly is generally speaking still edible however when done well it can make one feel as if they are dining on one of the finest things they have ever eaten. Pi Craft Pizza has found a way to put heaven in a box and serve it quickly.
Sometimes in my travels I find myself with nothing to do. No restaurants I want to dine at. No attractions I want to visit. Just do nothing more than relax. I have found usually the best way to spend this time is a little walk down memory lane. This was how, my friends, I found myself going down a short stretch of road that shot me out into Gates town park.
Before I get too deep into this I would like to clarify: there are some places I have visited in my travels I will not review. The reasons for this will vary from "a review is not appropriate" to "I do not review large chains." This falls to the latter. The Steak 'n Shake restaurant is a fairly sizable chain with over 500 restaurants nation wide and is just getting larger. I recently had the opportunity of going to a Steak 'n Shake for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised.
A condensed but fun water park. Friendliness\Helpfulness of Staff The staff overall was friendly and would answer questions when needed but considering this is an indoor water park they were focused on maintaining safety. While staffing the rides they would not look at you directly when answering questions. Lifeguards would do the same thing but this is expected. When not maintaining the rides they were far friendlier and would do their best to be helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Another thing to note here is the inconsistency the ones manning the rides had in enforcing particular policies whether or not they are actually written down. Most ride staff didn't seem to mind if you wore a shirt when you went down some of the water slides, but others would not allow you to ride. This could lead to an inconsistent experience. Another small note is that I called the night before to find out pricing. The person who I spoke with did not seem to be aware of their after 4 PM pricing.
The room was medium size with an average layout but this was probably one of the smaller suites I've stayed in. The overall appearance is rather dated. I felt like I was stepping into the late 70s or early 80s.
