The little barn owl looked forlornly down at the forest floor from her perch on a high branch of an oak tree. She keenly spotted a little mouse scurrying its way across the leaf-covered ground but she made no move to hunt it down. She wasn’t hungry, hasn’t been for a few days now.

Martyn and the Pifronna Flower
In a world far more fantastical than our own, there was a series of kingdoms that all together was known as the Faye Expanse. Though due to the land's harsh environment and bloodthirsty creatures, many people dubbed their world the Cruel Continent instead. Right in the center of the continent, there was the Vatus Kingdom, one of the more prosperous and safer kingdoms, though not by much. But if one was to ask a young boy named Martyn, he would say his life was great.
