Sistas
If you loved Living Single in the 90s, then you definitely will like Sistas, Tyler Perry’s new sitcom on the BET network. Now I will admit that Sistas is a little more edgy than Living Single, but it still follows the lives and loves of four women who are the closest of friends. Also, whereas Living Single was more episodic, Sistas is more serialized in it’s delivery.

Why Didn't You Stay?
The question keeps popping up in my mind over and over for multiple people - Why couldn’t you love me enough to stay? I have lost a number of people in my life who claimed to love me for various reasons, and as someone with an anxiety disorder who has not sat well with me and I constantly find myself asking why couldn’t they love me enough to stay in my life.

Perfectly Aligned
I am royalty on all sides! My parents named me ReGina which means Queen in Late Latin, and I was born under the Astrological Sign of Leo, the Lion, The King/Queen of the Jungle! So I have no choice to be Royal and Regal in everything that I do! I operate under my own power, never conforming to the norm.

Why It Matters
One day I am casually scrolling through my Facebook feed and come across an art contest that is asking for submissions dealing with mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and submission could be art work, a short story or poetry. The word poetry sparked my interest even though I hadn’t written any poetry in a long time for this cause was near and dear to my heart, so I am confident that the subject matter would inspire me to place words on the pages of the new little black book journal that I had purchased some time ago but have never used. Now seems like the perfect time to find my favorite pen, and begin letting words spill out of my fingertips onto the pages of this journal. I mean that’s why I bought it, right?

Heroes, Halos, Hallucinations
One day while taking a relaxing walk through the forest, I came across a tree with a circular stairway, and as I followed the stairway up the tree with my eyes I spied multiple treehouses in the upper branches. Unable to resist the allure of the treehouses, I climbed the stairway taking in each treehouse as I went along, however, it was the uppermost house that caught my eye and so I went inside. Once inside I see a comfortable seating space, mood lighting, a window nook, and book-lined shelves, just the kind of place where I could relax and read a book. I walk over to the window nook to observe the scenery past it’s panes, and as I attempt to make space for me to sit and enjoy the view, a little black notebook with a pen inside of it sitting in the window nook catches my eye. It looked to be of fine quality, and the pen was a calligraphy pen, which is not a common writing instrument, but one that can produce the most elegant writing. Curious as to what was being written in this little black book with this unusual pen, I decided to find out what delights it contained. So I pick up the little black book, go and get comfortable on the couch, and open it up to see what’s inside. The first thing that I notice is that the handwriting is clear, precise, and really artistic in nature, so much better than my handwriting which my grandmother would compare to chicken scratch whenever she had to read something that I had handwritten.
