Developing Chatbots
Three eras of computer development 1. Tabulating era (1890–1949) The first era of computing was electromechanical in nature. The computers then were programmed to do one specific task only. Once it is programmed, it is not supposed to be changed without significant effort. There were no any programming languages then. But you can still call it a computer since it can do some automated and repetitive tasks with minimal human intervention. Basically, a computer then was bulk and not flexible enough to do different kinds of tasks.

The Age of Integration and Automation
Why integration and automation? Nowadays the majority of computer applications are being hosted on cloud platforms. As there is no single application that can fulfill all kinds of needs, a business normally subscribes to different applications from different service providers at the same time. The most common applications are email, document management, collaborative workspace, project management, and office suite. Over the years, most people are used to the ways they use computer applications without seriously thinking about possible improvements, such as making applications working together to minimize or even eliminate human intervention. For example, everyday people spend a lot of time in managing the inbox of their email applications manually, such as moving new emails to different folders for future follow-up, forwarding emails to keep others informed, storing the attachments for future reference, and searching for old emails to work on some tasks or projects. Actually, a lot of time and manual effort can be saved by integration and automation. In terms of integration, it means data can flow between systems without any human intervention. In terms of automation, it means the operation on data can be predefined so that the operation can be executed automatically to avoid any human errors. As a result, through integration and automation, the overall operational efficiency of a business can be maximized, costs can be reduced and human errors can be eliminated.

Bring your Old Computers to Life and Save the World with CloudReady
Save the world by bringing your old computers to life Every day a large number of computers are being obsolete with the main reason that the current operating system cannot effectively run on old hardware. I would say this is not the "sin" of the hardware, but the operating system is too hardware demanding. Have you ever experienced that your personal computers need to be replaced simply because you need to upgrade the operating system? Have you ever thought that you may still use your old hardware with a "light" operating system which is less hardware demanding? By keeping the old hardware, you can help save the world by not to dispose of computer hardware to pollute the world, or not to waste the energy to recycle some of the computer hardware.

Run Linux Alongside Windows
Why we still use Microsoft Windows? Microsoft Windows is the most popular desktop operating system in the world. At the office, at home, or while traveling, we run applications on the Windows platform. For a long time, the Windows operating system running on PCs dominates the market even there are some major issues that need to be improved, such as it is hardware demanding, weak in security control, and easy to be infected by the virus. The main reasons it still dominates the market are that Windows is widely deployed, can provide a large number of applications, as well as has an excellent user interface. Among all, the hardware demanding issue and security issue are the most critical ones. Would that be possible that we can run the latest version of Windows without upgrading the hardware? Would that be possible we don’t need to buy expensive software to protect the privacy of the data being stored on a PC? Until recently, I have found a solution for addressing those issues. That is a Linux distribution with a very good user interface, excellent security control, and a wide range of software applications.

A Simple Tool for Time Management
The power of time management Time is limited for everybody! If our time is well managed, our life will be more effective. That is we can achieve more in the course of our life. Compared to those who do not manage time, we will have more freedom. Freedom comes from good discipline. A good discipline is knowing when to do what. For example, doing physical exercise and self-reflection in the morning time are highly effective habits.

Data Science and Machine Learning
Where are we in human history? Nowadays people are being connected by mobile devices anytime, anywhere. This provides a foundation for people to share information, exchange ideas, or even manage projects through social media in collaborative ways. Almost all forms of data are being converted to digital formats, and it is becoming feasible for them to be stored in cloud storage and exchanged through high-speed networks. We are currently in the age of digitalization.
