Three Deep Breaths
7892 Sylvester Street, 12:30 AM OR I’LL TELL THEM. That’s all the paper read when Sheldon received it three hours ago. No instructions. He could only assume he was supposed to just show up at the specified address, and subsequent specified time. He looked down at his watch. 12:22 AM. Eight minutes. He took three deep breaths and began tapping his foot on the floor of the bus, feeling himself grow impatient. He looked around and wished he was one of the other few people on the bus, probably all of them sitting here, without a care in the world.

He lifted his hand to his forehead and felt his fingertips hit moisture. Paul couldn’t remember the last time he had felt so excited and nervous at the same time. He avoided her gaze and hadn’t said much. Paul wondered if that might have upset her.
Wrong Place at the Right Time
Sophie raised her head at the shuffling sound from outside and flicked off a wood chip that was stuck to her cheek. She rolled over onto her back and with her non handcuffed hand, shovelled a few pieces of wood chips from her bed. She was lucky enough to be given a blanket and a crib mattress, yet somehow, she still couldn’t keep the wood chips off of it.
The Bigger Picture
Emma marvelled at the knife’s blade as it sliced through the lime with ease. She wondered why she didn’t give it to the kitchen to sharpen earlier. She would have finished prepping this bucket of limes half an hour ago. She glanced at her watch. Only 11:30. How could she have only been here an hour? It felt like twelve.
You're Not Alone
Parker set his plastic fork down and gazed across the cafeteria. All of the tables were full. Except the one he was sitting at. It wasn’t the first time he had been ostracized by his peers, but it hurt the most. He had chosen to opt out of basketball at the beginning of the season and his former teammates were making it a nightmare for him to be at school.
