With the Rain Comes the Flood
There used to be a time, in the not so distant past, where the sound of rain brought comfort. When the scent of wet earth and the rhythmic pitter-patter on the roof calmed and soothed and was a time of healing. But now, now it brought nothing but anxiety and fear. Now it encouraged memories to the surface that do nothing but drown.

Some Things Are More Important Than Gold
The faint patter of footsteps echoed through the cavern. They're not even being quiet about it anymore, the thought flitted across my mind as I forced my eyes open. It has been years since anyone dared enter my lair, but it appears they have forgotten the stories and some pesky human has decided to try their luck again.

The Four-Legged Adventures of Cas
Dog people are all the same. We love our pets more than we love anything else. We spoil them, give them treats, and take them on adventures that we wouldn't normally go on ourselves. They make us better, kinder, more patient people. As soon as someone asks that fatal question "Do you have a dog?", we light up. Proud as punch showing off photos of our furry babies, telling strangers about their character and the funny habits that they posses. In my experience, dogs bring people together, they encourage us to socialise with people we wouldn't normally, to make unsuspecting friends.

Amongst the Heather
Thunder rumbled over the moor. Clouds roiled. Their darkness extinguished the glow of the sun. Wind whipped the flaming hair of the woman who had hidden in a copse of trees to watch the gathered druids dancing amongst the heather.

How I earned the name 'Nursey'
I never thought I did well under pressure. I cry easily when I get stressed, my heart races and I need work hard to fight back tears. Working in a stressful position as a Travel Agent for six years didn't build up immunity to the onslaught of emotions that being yelled at by clients, or having to work up the courage to call them about a price increase, would bring about.

Into The Loch's DepthsTop Story - October 2021
Frigid water lapped the shore of the Loch as icy beads of rain slid down my neck, seeping through the many layers I wore to ward off the cold. An otherwise peaceful outlook; seeing the waters stretching to the horizon, the rolling green hills blending into the shoreline, the proud silhouette of Urquhart Castle standing guard over the black expanse, or at least, it would have been peaceful, except for the keen wailing being carried on the wind.
