Warring Silence
I couldn’t recall the last time I felt exposed. Did I ever feel like this? Maybe by accident. It’s hard to tell, when you’re going through the trenches, filled with blood, sweat and tears. It is always difficult to know the truth when you’re battling for your life. They tell you it’s not a game, it’s hell! They weren’t lying. This was a massacre of unprecedented proportions. I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I volunteered. It was almost too good to be true. I should have known it was.

WHAT'S IN THE BAG!?
A brown paper bag was set right in front of all the new initiators, including myself. Our host, wearing a stereotypical lab-coat, dark safety glasses, and a mask over their mouth, placed it gently down on the small table in the center of the room. Standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slender physique, suggesting to me that this is a woman. There wasn’t a thud or crackle of sound made when the bag was placed on the smooth surface of the table. Odd!

Power of a Voice!
Humanity, from the moment we could think, have been creating wonderful and awe-inspiring inventions, art, or literature to satiate that instinct. From the creation of the first “Fire”, to the airplane that allows us to get around the world, NOT in 80 days, but in mere days, has been nothing short of extraordinary. We have even landed a human being on the MOON! The power of creation has propelled humanity to newer heights.

Fish Out of Water
Being a native Hawaiian and born in Hawai’i, I was exposed to many diverse cultures, ethnicities, and traditions growing up. The Melting Pot of the Pacific is a label surrounding the islands. So, I am used to meeting people not of my faith, race, and culture. I mean, with white, pristine beaches, eighty-degree weather, and wonderful, natural island beauty, Hawai’i is a destination many from around the world desire to traverse too. But if you have seen the movie Moana, many native Hawaiians have the same mentality as her. If you have not watched it, highly recommended.

The “Dark Side” of Apollo:
You’ve heard of Apollo 11 being the first manned shuttle to land on the moon in 1969, right? Well, brace yourself because you might have been hoodwinked. Thanks to conspiracy theorists like William Kaysing, many believe that the NASA program for all Apollo moon landings was a fabricated story by the US government to win against the Russians for the title of first to the moon. They called it, the Space Race. Did America really win the race? Was Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldridge the first men on the moon? Let’s find out.
