The "Magic" of White Men, White Women and Whiteness
Yeah I said it. White people have their own Magic. It just... isn't actual magic. I have come to the conclusion that white men look better on TV than they do in real life. This conclusion is based on observations of the media vs reality. It is also based on how the glassy expectations of white people (set by white people) were shattered by the hard hands of real life and truth. Back when I was in Africa, anytime I saw a white man, he was always portrayed as the hero, the successful businessman, the clever detective, the handsome romantic, the one who saved the "savages" (Africans and Native Americans) and in many more "positive" roles. There was nothing the white man could not do according to the (whitewashed and neo-colonized) media. Heck, you see white men in stories they had nothing to do with come out as the glorified hero, i.e. a white dude magically out bested every Chinese solider in a martial art that the Chinese have practiced for hundreds of years... in just two to three months (what the fuck?!). So of course I thought white men were magical creatures, I mean they were on TV, so it had to be true. I just had to go to America to end up with one for the rest of my life. Then I came to America... and let's say it was a big ass disappointment.

Why Shouldn't You Punch a Nazi?
Hey there, progressives, and conservatives, and everyone in between the political spectrum! You may be shocked by the title of this piece (or misread it in the first try) but...Yeah, that's the point. Would you be surprised if I told you that not all liberals think the same way? Some liberals are actually the exact opposite of snowflakes (which might be a hard concept for a right winger to understand). As a matter of fact, there are some progressives who are actually just as aggressive (as conservatives) about their views and are not afraid to defend those views with ferocity.

Who Gets to Say the N-Word?
I'm going to start off my saying that I am not objective in this subject matter (I do not claim any neutral stance). Honestly speaking, I have certain biases because I am very passionate when talking about the N-word (and I'm black as hell). So, lets start with clearly stating where I stand on the this issue.

The Life and Times of the Liberal Nigerian
If you have been reading my articles, by now you will pick up that I am a very progressive person (Liberal AF!) and I am African (it's literally in my bio). I strongly advocate for social change and implementing liberal ideas in general society. I also believe in equal rights, equity, respect and opportunity for men, women, black, white, disabled or abled, queer or straight etc. Many people may see that and think, "Oh that is completely fine and nothing hard about that" (or that I'm another snowflake...fuck all yee Ann Coulters then...but SIKE!). Being the only progressive in a space that is aggressively conservative is similar (not the same!) to being the only black person in a completely white space. You cannot fully express yourself due to fear of hostility and being seen as the dangerous other thus, you are pressured to blend in as much as you possibly can (and its hard out here in these streets). Being a Liberal young woman in a Nigerian environment is way tougher than one can imagine and I will tell you why.

5 Reasons She's a Virgin in Her 20s
Let's start off like this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a virgin in your 20s! Adult virgins are tired of being called PRUDE for not having sex at a certain age or following the social clock in general. They are also tired of being portrayed as shy, helplessly innocent women awaiting the dominium of a man (eww! misogynistic much?). If I had a dime for every single time I heard, "You don't look like a virgin" or "You didn't tell me you were a virgin!" I could... realistically buy me a bottle of whiskey (I ain't got a lot of friends). It's very ironic to me because as women, if we have sex at an early age, we are slut shamed, if we have sex at a later age, we are prude and "unskilled" in the act. If you haven't had sexual intercourse in your 20s, 30s or older, that is completely fine and normal. Fuck the virgin shamers!

Cultural Assimilation vs. Cultural Appropriation
Alright children (especially white girls and coon black men)! Gather round. Mama has something to say! First thing is first, black girls? you can do whatever you want with your hair. You can wear weaves, wigs, braids, cornrows, dreadlocks or go natural. Don't let the constant shaming of your hair influence you (easier said than done, believe me girl, I know). Black girls, you have the right to do whatever you want with your hair. Yes! go ahead and wear blonde, blue, green, red, pink, ombre, grey, white hair colors! Even though we live in a Eurocentric society where African hair is seen as ugly, your hair is NOT ugly. It is gorgeous in every single way. Only queens like you are blessed with African hair.

Appreciate Not Appropriate!Top Story - July 2017
EXTRA! EXTRA!! DO NOT APPROPRIATE MINORITY CULTURE!!! Ladies and gentlemen, Boys and girls, White people. I have heard a lot of bullshit in my life on why culture vultures (people who steal from other cultures) always appropriate the cultures of minority groups (like black, Latina, Native American cultures etc.) and believe me, it's a lot of bullshit (my next article will talk about one of them). On the other hand, I've had a lot of people (who happen to be white) ask me how they can appreciate rather than appropriate culture. My white colleagues often tell me that they listen to rap music and enjoy it very much (I don't know why they feel the need to tell me but...okay). The follow up is often a question asking me if they are appropriating black culture just by listening to rap music. First, the answer is no. Second, my humble self would like to give you some tips on how to appreciate rather than appropriate minority cultures.
