Natural Born Grifter
I woke up extra early one morning in the summer of ‘87, and immediately began putting on my brand-new Cub Scout uniform. It was the coolest, with all its patches and adornments. I, of course, didn’t tie the neckerchief right, but that didn’t matter to me.

Shimmer
The source of the maddeningly, hypnotic melody emanating from the woods is standing before me. It appears to be some kind of bird. Its feathers are a thousand glimmering gradients of every color. A rainbow of shifting hues, sparkling in blinding brilliance. I have never seen anything like it. I am going to try to get closer.”

Crate Diggin' - Used Kids
Lately I have been feeling myself falling into a growing rut when it comes to the music I am listening to. That One Song
Every now and then there's that one song that comes out that you find yourself turning the volume up for whenever it comes on the radio. Sometimes it is the only song you've heard from whoever created it. The proverbial "one hit wonder", if you will. One hit wonders have been around since the beginning of music. It's not that the artist lacks talent. It's not that they don't have followers that HAVE heard all their songs. It's that, most haven't. One such song came on the other day and it inspired me to learn more about the artist and their other songs. This song was "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye.

The Path to True Mastery
True Master is a real life adventure game like no other. Every week we are presented with three cards that represent three challenges to complete. These challenges range from learning a new life skill to communing with nature. This week, the Baker card was dealt, which challenged members of the True community to bake something. I chose to revisit a previous challenge titled Global Pancakes, one aimed at helping us learn how to make pancakes from various cultures around the world. A list of several were provided. I decided to make a Finnish specialty called the Pannukakku, which is baked in the oven as opposed to on a griddle.
