STRAP
I go to meet my old flatmate for drinks and I pull the magazine out of my bag and push it across the table at him. “You’ve got to see this,” I say, getting ready to gush. He starts flicking through the pages and then looks up at me and says, “you’re showing me a magazine full of people my type,” face full of awe. “Isn’t it amazing? All this amazing queer and trans art? I had to show you.” He did an art degree and used to front a queer trans punk band*, so I knew he’d appreciate all of the work in this exciting magazine.

Don’t Feel Bad About the Video Game Getting You Through Quarantine
For years I had watched my best friend play Minecraft and build when he was stressed out. He suggested I try the game, and while I was always interested, I felt like I no longer had the time for games and that my time as a computer enthusiast was dwindling. I felt more attached to the “real world.” When I met my current partner, I watched them play Minecraft so much that the intrigue bubbled up inside me, and I remembered my best friend telling me how much I would enjoy the game. I decided to invest in the game about a year ago, over Christmas, so that my partner and I could play together even though we were a great distance apart. Once I started playing, I was so glad I had invested and downloaded the game. I am someone who finds it difficult to relax, even though I am fond of movement and meditation, like yoga. When I play Minecraft, between the calming music and the ability to be as creative as I’d like, I know it’s my special time with myself to relax. I love playing in creative mode, because I can literally create the world of my dreams, but I’ve even come to enjoy survival mode because I get to spend my life in game harvesting crops and going on adventures, like I would like to in real life. Minecraft has become one of my ways of meditating, and I hope that when creating my world in game, it’s helping me to solidify the type of world I want to manifest for myself.

Why You Should Do a Study Tour or Study Abroad
Imagine getting to live in Tokyo, Japan for two weeks as a fourteen year old student after taking a fourteen hour plane ride to get there. This was what I was blessed enough to do through my high school, and if you are able, a study tour is a worthwhile investment.

What It's Like Being a Host Student
Host families are families who agree to let a student from a foreign country stay in their house for a short period of time, and attend school with their child while undertaking a study tour. Being a host student is a rich opportunity for a plethora of reasons. When I was in school, I was a host student for seven years. Each year, my family and I hosted a student from Japan. If you have the space in your home, and your family is willing and able, I highly recommend being a host student at least once in your life.

Why a Menstrual Cup Is a Game Changer
Any of my fellow menstruating individuals know all about the struggles of menstruation. Most of us know the uncomfortable feeling of wearing sanitary products. What most of us don’t know, however, is how our sanitary products affect the environment. A menstrual cup is a game changer in all ways.

How Yoga Changed My Life
I couldn’t breathe when I was fourteen years old, on my way to my Honors Biology class. I woke up in the cafeteria, with my then boyfriend peering over me. Discovering that I suffered from panic attacks which were so bad that they made me faint felt like it caused a huge change in my life, because I quickly realized that I never wanted to feel that way again. It felt like another thing to add to my seemingly ever-growing laundry list of personal problems, like it was the whipped cream on top of my sundae of cycling insomnia and clinical depression.
