Body, I See you Are Ready
It's Autumn In more ways than one. A few years now, my body started to speak in new and different ways. The rush of the moon tides of my bleeding would come heavier, way heavier. And then they would recede and disappear for a few moons. Giving me time to contemplate. Giving me time to remember all the Life this womb has carried. So much life and love in these bones, following the rhythms of my heart and mind, of my womb and body. So many seasons.

Saintes Marie de La Mer
I returned to France, the country of my birth, when the world went into chaos. A world that had shaped and formed me was left behind for a world that had birthed me. It felt welcoming in the unfamiliar way that it carried echoes of my ancestors, without the memories. I was 3 when we left and although I had been raised with all the songs and stories of this country it was a foreign land.

The Vision
It came sweeping in like the soft warm spring breezes that had been scenting the wind these last few weeks. A strange and welcome sense of Lightness. The mornings seemed to stretch out like days and bring such frequent moments of joy at the sight of the light shining through the green woods. The moss seemed greener and more vibrant. One afternoon I fell into such a deep softness, I heard the hum of the ancestors singing the old song. The song we were told would only come at the end. This is when i knew. The time of Return was upon us.

First Bass
"That was a long flight" Viola said with a sigh as we arrived at our downtown hotel room in Reykjavik. I had already been here a few days and had slept the jetlag off. I sympathized with her by suggesting she take a cat nap while I gathered some things for our stay. Wine and snacks to start with.

Through the Velvet Curtains
The bushes rustled as we walked through the open field at dusk, our hands interlaced and our voices hushed in the luminous expanse of the last rays of light onto the Earth. We enjoyed the restfulness of the dusk on our senses knowing what the evening had in store. Our quietness didn't hide the intensity of what our bodies anticipated. I could feel my heart thumping in my chest and could almost make out a pulse in his hand, that wrapped comfortingly around mine.
