Love by Chocolate
The lights were dimmed, and Isaac walked towards me holding a miniature chocolate mud cake with a single candle in the middle. He held my stare as he placed it on the table between us.
The light in the field
"Quick! Run!" Ricky yelled grabbing my hand and hauling me towards the old barn. We had been walking and chatting quietly through the farm with the sun setting behind us. We checked on the animals and closed pens and gates each evening while talking about our day.
The Rebels in Our Midst
"Come along, Princess. It's time to head back," my guard said quietly behind me. I continued to look down at my handheld water scanner, the dust flowing around my feet on the light breeze that came into the small cave we were in.
You are my summer fate
The desert sands burning beneath my feet, I keep walking in the heat of the day; My footsteps drum a rhythm, hear that beat,
The chaos in my heart

Strong Women & Angsty Anthems
Born neatly between Generation X and Generation Y (aka Millenials) my teenage years were filled with the raw angst of grunge rock. While most girls were listening to Britney Spears and the Spice Girls, I was jamming to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine and a few originals in my rock band, Anubis.
The assassin and the poppies
The assassin leapt from rooftop to rooftop, her footing sure as she nimbly ran, jumped, landed and ran again. The night was dark and the streets were at their quietest. Her plan was simple, in and out, pick up her money and on to the sailboat currently anchored on the horizon.
Books, Merlot and Blood
I was quietly sitting behind the counter at my little bookstore reading reviews on the latest releases. James was idly picking up books from the top ten section, as he had done every Friday afternoon for the last three years.
