Myra Hotchkiss
Bio
I'm a 61 year old Southern lady, a mom and grandmother, who loves life. I'm disabled, but that doesn't stop me. I love cooking, working with plants, Nature, kids, people in general, and so much more that there isn't enough room to write it

Mama, Life Had Just Begun
Most people get annoyed when a song gets stuck on repeat in their heads every single second of every single day. It's enough to make you take up the sounds of silence. I've been trained, however, to notice whatever goes through the mind as some kind of message from the Universe, so I listen a little more closely than others do.

Save Me, President Jesus, I'm Bored In The USA
Through no fault of our own, every American (indeed, everyone world-wide) is in detention. For the first couple months, it was great. We could sleep in, eat whenever we wanted, laze in a hot bubble bath, and watch TV until we went into a coma. Good times.

Cheeseburger In Paradise, Biscuits, Mashed Potato Time, Oh, My
I'll bet you read all the blogs and articles written about seniors. After all, they cover important stuff such as what we should wear, the food we should eat, natural methods for caring for ourselves and natural medicines to take. All this helps. We're grateful that someone takes the time to talk to us, even if it is only online.

Okay, So Heads Will Roll
Go ahead, admit it. You just danced in your chair when you watched the video. It's okay to admit that you dance in your car as you're driving it as well. As we age, the skin becomes thin, discolored, and the texture of parchment. The good news is that skin can be toned as well as retain moisture. This makes senior skin look younger. How can we do this?

Challenge Accepted
I once thought as a lot of you do. When a disaster, challenge, or some personal distress happened to me, I gritted my teeth, balled up my fists, and stuck it out. When I reached the other side of the problem, I heaved a sigh of relief and got on with it. The problem, challenge, or disaster was shoved into the back of my mind.

And Introducing Myra Hotchkiss
I was a very shy girl. That never changed as I grew older. It doesn't seem fair, does it? We all want to be Roxie Hart or any actress on Glee, stunning looking and with several cups of overflowing talent. Well, the talent is there, but it's for a keyboard, not singing or acting. Ah, well, we make the best of the gifts we're given.
