It’s About The Children — Or At Least It Should Be!
Picture, if you will, the tender souls of Gaza's children, their laughter mingling with the deafening noise of airstrikes and gunfire. Their eyes, likely a reflection of both resilience and vulnerability – yet another poignant reminder of the dualities of life in a conflict zone.

Healthcare Challenges Amidst the Israel-Palestine Conflict
Prior to exploring the healthcare implications of the Israel-Palestine conflict, it's essential to clarify that this article does not endorse violence or adopt a position on reports emerging from Israel. Rather, it underscores the significance of considering health conditions, particularly when it’s innocent civilians who bear the brunt of the consequences. Here, I also feel it’s important to recognize that actions of all parties involved in the conflict have devastating consequences on the lands and the overall health of the people living there. The suffering of innocent civilians, whether due to military operations or the actions of militant groups, underscores the need for humanitarian efforts and a peaceful resolution to alleviate their plight/restore stability to the region. Current reports suggest that hundreds of Palestinians and Israelis have lost their lives, while thousands have been injured, suffering a range of injuries from minor wounds to severe trauma.

Let me paint an all-too-well-known picture for you — it’s 9PM and you decide to open your Instagram feed after a long day at work/school/whatever occupies your day. Two seconds later, a long list of aesthetically pleasing pictures occupy your screen and incite the neurons in your brain to appreciate the sheer beauty of somebody else’s brush with perfection.

Skin Deep: Unveiling the Essence of Diversity in Medicine
As our world is becoming increasingly aware of the systemic biases plaguing the lives of ethnic minorities, the field of medicine has emerged relatively unscathed in the wake of this new movement. Statistics from the NHS show that a promising 45% of hospital doctors in the UK come from minority groups; yet, when it comes to educating the next generation of doctors, the feeling of inclusivity falls miles short. The issue is perhaps glaringly obvious in dermatology, a field that relies on a clinician’s ability to diagnose conditions based on their appearance/pattern.

Rage & Regret
In the veiled embrace of night's somber cloak, he stood face-to-face with an inner foe. Vitriolic words had escaped his lips, their toxic bite poisoning cherished hearts. Memories surged, snapshots of his aggression's aftermath: contorted faces, tears cascading, eyes that once glowed with love now etched with indescribable betrayal.

What It Means To Be An Immigrant In The 21st Century
Humans... There is no denying that we are complicated beings, scrambling to deal with the plethora of different issues plaguing our daily lives. Sadly, these troubles fail to unite us as we continue to find ourselves on the receiving end of deleterious behaviour from our biological peers. Immigration is just another example of how this contradictory phenomenon can manifest itself and my experience was no exception to this unwritten rule.

Nuances of Life: Dissecting Sandra Oh's Netflix Series "The Chair"
Netflix has gone and done it yet again. I just stumbled upon "The Chair" and one can't help but fall in love with its quirky storyline. In fact, I have yet to encounter such a profound plotline in the comedy-drama sphere and its writers certainly delivered on these hard-hitting parameters.

An Open Letter To All World Leaders
Dear World Leaders, Our planet finds itself at yet another pivotal moment as heart-wrenching calamities seem to be unfurling across different continents. We have Afghanistan, whose takeover by the Taliban has caused millions to be displaced in their own country. We have Haiti, whose bad streak of natural disasters and political instability has devastated its population. We have Lebanon, whose economic crisis is prompting rampant poverty as people are unable to sustain themselves. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg and there are a plethora of different issues plaguing contemporary society by making our existence unnervingly complicated. Consequently, we are becoming startlingly desensitized to blatant pessimism, usually left with little to no hope of turning things around. In fact, just a simple act of turning on the news can trigger depressing thoughts regarding the current nature of global affairs.

Man, don't you just love Netflix and its shiny new collection of titles to binge on. If you're anything like me, every once in a while, you might find yourself scouring the site for something spooky to watch.
