Because of You- I'm not Alone
Things had been hard since mom left. Dad wasn't sleeping, he was frustrated and angry all the time. Dealing with six kids by himself was more than he could carry. He was constantly short tempered and quick to discipline. I was too young at the time to understand he was just hurting, bad. When he got married to my step-mom, my 9 year old brain created the most beautiful story of how our family would be happy and whole again. I couldn't wait, we made it! Happy ever after!

The Truth
I am currently living in London for a month, prepping for a tour I am a part of, and so far it has definitely been eye opening! I can say, without reservation, that I am a work addict and I put way too much of my personal value in my day job, I have a relatively unhealthy relationship with myself (which is why I try to keep living life 1,000 miles a minute, so I don’t have to feel things), and also that writing more honest music has been a lot more than I bargained for. That being said, its a lot more than I bargained for in good and bad ways.

The Road to Galway
I was up late writing some music in October when I got a text from my friend Emily asking if I was free for a call. Not unusual, except that this friend was currently traveling in Ireland shooting a short film. She had called me earlier in the week for a BFF pep talk session—her trip in Scotland wasn’t going well and she had been asked if she wanted to be cast in a short film in Ireland. I told her she’d be an absolute idiot to stay miserable and not take the chance.
