6 Easy Tips To Help Structure Your Time At Home
1. Set an alarm Yes you could sleep in, but what if you didn't? Being stuck in my childhood bedroom instead of a bustling dorm of college students, I was initially excited to finally get to sleep in. However, after a few days of this, I found myself wandering around the house like a zombie the entire day, lethargic and unmotivated. I realized that letting myself sleep in signified to my body that I had nothing to accomplish and it was vacation time. I was so accustomed to having a 7:30am alarm that without it my body and mind signed off for the day. Although I may roll over in anger when the dreaded ring tone sounds with the birds, I always accomplish more on the days that begin with an alarm. Even if you set an alarm for a leisurely time of morning, (no need to be rising at 5am in quarantine) it can help set the tone of a work day and boost motivation.

The Paradox of Quarantine as an Introvert
When I first heard that I had to move back in with my parents and finish the semester online, I was hit with a wave of conflicting emotions. I was in the midst of the busiest, most stressful semester of college, with days full of social outings, studying, club meetings, working multiple jobs, and preparing my scientific research for conferences. On the one hand, I was immensely saddened to leave behind my friends, professors, and research; on the other hand, the part of me that had barely been holding on throughout spring semester was relieved to get a "break" from all of the social and academic obligations.

How to Feel Productive in Quarantine as an Unemployed Millennial
1. Start Investing Your Money I had never bothered to spend much brain power considering what my money was doing before quarantine. I always had a job, spent some money, and saved a modest amount, but that was about the extent of my financial literacy. Now, unemployed and anxious about my future financial stability amid this pandemic, I decided to finally invest (pun intended) some of my time in understanding my money. Through just a few hours of diligent googling, youtube video watching, blog reading, and more googling, I was able to gain enough of an understanding of basic investments and savings strategies that I felt confident dipping my toe into the financial planning world. I first moved a portion of my savings into a high interest savings account, which increases the annual interest (compounded monthly) that your savings are making. If my money is going to sit in a savings account, it might as well be making me more money sitting there, even if it is only a few dollars difference. I also invested a chunk of my savings into a diversified long term investment portfolio, after discovering robo-investing. This tool allows for hands-off investment with little to no management fees. While this may not be the best option for financially savvy people, it works well for financially challenged students like myself, who are not out here managing millions of dollars. I have also been using the app Wealthfront in order to track my savings, spending habits, and investments in order to hold myself accountable (Wealthfront app: https://www.wealthfront.com/c/affiliates/invited/AFFB-EFAQ-ZXX8-H92Z)

Are Grades Hurting Your Education?
As an undergraduate STEM student, I am all too familiar with the feeling of dread that accompanies the return of graded exams. The pit in your stomach grows as you peek at the red markings, afraid of what might be in store. The anxiety surrounding graded school work can be overwhelming and paralyzing, especially when grades are seen as the currency of academic success. From medical schools and graduate schools to parents and peers, the leading discourse is that maintaining a high GPA is imperative. To many, a motivated, successful student is dependent upon the promised reward of a high grade. But are grades actually helping us learn?
