The Dragon's Curse
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. The great mages drove them into the mountains centuries ago, giving the villages of Silla an everlasting peace free of destruction and fear of the skies. War bells gathered dust at the top of unmanned watch towers surrounding the outer city of Belvia. Soldiers were relaxed and lazy, barely needing their weapons or armor for anything but a show of status among the people. Many citizens didn't even know the meaning of danger. Everyday was the same utopia.

The Study of Dragons
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. In the last century it was rare for them to even come down from the Blue Mountains. Today was a special day, and Elias had no intention of wasting it. Rumors had spread to the small village of Silla, located only miles away from the Valley, when the two creatures had appeared. The villagers became worried, whispers of leaving their homes behind and moving closer to the royal city have been ever present. Elias had no fear of the new neighboring creatures. He had spent years researching the great beasts of legend through ancient tomes and fossils, but never had the opportunity to study them live and up close until today. He could be the first person in history to document dragons in the flesh rather than rely on old stories and folklore.

I Quit
With a lifetime of knowing how to find the good and bad in every person I meet, the normal tricks won't work on me. I know your honeyed words are a lie, a clever ploy to get me to open up to you and give you ammunition to shoot me in the back. Nothing personal passes through these lips to your ear. You don't deserve the satisfaction of putting me down behind closed doors. I see how you talk to each other, interact, joke, laugh, and go about your day. I also see how you all insult and spread rumors when the other isn't looking. Although it may not be obvious that I'm paying that close attention, I assure you that I am. The hushed words whispered in the room are not that silent, but I think you're all aware of that, aren't you? Otherwise those words wouldn't be spoken aloud while those you torment are across the room.

Do Not Open
It wasn't there when she moved into her apartment. Bryce would have noticed it immediately if it was. The brown box, wrapped in paper that said "do not open", just appeared on her kitchen countertop sometime in the night. All of the doors and windows were locked and double checked to be sure nothing would open them, but someone had to have dropped it off right?
