CHAPTER 1: RUN
His ears are ringing and his vision is just a little bit blurry. His head doesn't hurt, but he feels pressure. For a moment he imagines a balloon being filled with too much air. He’s out of breath, but not from all the running, as most people would be in his current situation. It’s the coughing, sneezing, and runny nose brought on by the heavy pollen in the air and his allergy to it. “Should have taken my pill,” he says to himself with a wheeze. Through the fear, chaos, and adrenaline, the idea makes him laugh. But only for half a second.
