Tarot Pick-A-Card: A Message for You Right Now
Today's tarot reading is a reading without a question resulting in a message that's meant to reach you right now. I enjoy doing tarot readings where there are no questions because sometimes the thing we most need to hear is not something we have the words to ask.

Where I find the Inspiration to Write
In the book Where’d you go Burnadette by Maria Semple, Burnadette tells her bored daughter that the world isn’t here to make life interesting for her. From then onward, the daughter is never bored again. It’s the same for writing. Read on below for five methods that work for me to inspire the curiosity required to continuously write.

What I learned from reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
I started reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert near the end of 2022. I was in-between jobs and in general having a bit of a “spiritual” moment. Big Magic is motivational. Its audience appeal caters towards people who cannot abstain from doing creative work but have jobs doing other things. It’s a little weird. But, I was here for it.

How to raise a reader
I started reading to my 3.5 year old when he was about six months old. One thing is always clear — he picks the book. Even when he was a baby. Mostly it was the colors or the pictures he was attracted to. Then he started recognizing symbols. He still doesn’t quite know which way to hold the book up or which side is the front. He does know how to find a book on snowplows, and he will “read” it to himself (backwards) while making up a story out loud of what it says.

Who came up with Flamin' Hot Cheetos?
Recently, I was looking for some entreprenureal career direction, perferably in book form. One recently published biography stood out to me as a fun way to inspire myself to “succeed in business”. The book is titled Flaming’ Hot: The Incredible True Story of One Man’s Rise from Janitor to Top Executive.

12 “Most Anticipated” Books of Early 2023
One of the things I love about the literary world and its publications is that everyone is constantly coming out with “best of” lists. The Goodreads blog does seasonal “most anticipated” posts of up-and-coming interesting titles. Lit Hub does an annual “best of” round up by looking at all the top book review publications out there and then listing the books that got reviewed the most, counting down, with sources.
