The Dragon Lady
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. There never were any dragons at all as far as I can remember. Or perhaps better explained as like not the fire breathing, fang winged, eating the princess type. But in the here and now exists a far worse kind. At least in my personal opinion. And all my comrades' opinions also.

Ride the Lightning
I do not recall the exact date or month, or even a really coherent narrative of how I found myself an inpatient at a psychiatric hospital in the Borough of Queens, city of New York. However, I do know that it was not the first hospital I was admitted to. Nor were any of the events transpiring not of my choice. I have for some time been realizing that things, somethings, then everything, were somehow not quite right. Part of the recipe here was the fact that I was involved in a near fatal motor vehicle accident, upon my ejection from my vehicle a good Samaritan at the scene thought it proper to drape a blanket over me as she was convinced there was a dead body on the side of the road, and the decent thing to do would be to shield others from such a sight.

Land before the Lockets, verse 1
How many times have you heard a government worker, civil servant, etc. say “‘not my job”’when asked to do a task, any task, outside their mostly self defined “ job description?” Well, I can assure you any irony that is left in this world has been used by people like that. But please be decent when dealing with them, supposing you are in the condition right now to be decent, which very few people are. I consider myself decent. To myself mostly, and a motley crew of human refuse I am forced to associate with out of the need to stay alive. Well, more precisely the need to eat. Being alive, being human, having a soul, are mostly vaguely self defined terms now.

Do You Really Want To Understand This?
Not being political about things, I have read the community guidelines, but as an Iraq veteran I can’t help but have mixed fellings about Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan mission ending. For sure I felt just as happy hearing my military people are coming home from there as I was for the Iraq side of the house when we came home. It is just bittersweet is all. I knew and saw what was the price we paid after twenty years of combat operations.

Sun Lit Days, Green Lit Nights
At first glance it does not seem too hard to write a fictional story involving a green light right? Starting with the obvious right away we got green traffic lights, plenty of possibilities there. Where I live the gas prices displayed on the stations illuminated signs are in green. You could write a whole story based on how those green light prices make you more miserable everyday as those prices go higher. In fact I just realized today most ATMs flash a green light when being used by a customer. If you really wanted to swing for the fences here, could you imagine if somehow DC gave you permission to use their intellectual property rights to the Green Lantern? We are talking home run on that.

When The Sharks Sang
I have always said that the worst part of human beings is that they have an annoying habit of always acting human. I should know, I have been watching your species since you evolved into your wretched state. I am 3rd Assessor Vulcan, presently observing your planet, you humans, from the massive surveillance facility hundreds of feet below the surface of MARS. MARS as you know it is not Reality. Think of it as a Planet sized super computer containing technology you couldn’t possibly conceive. MARS is actually an acronym for Mobile Assessment Reconnaissance Station, and we have been doing just that since before your time. But at long last, my most sincere wish has been granted. I get to sit here, surrounded by holographic surveillance of your planet. And I get to watch it die.

Drop Dead Gorgeous
Drop Dead Gorgeous Death is such a drama Queen I would imagine by now everyone has heard the sop “ be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.” And I get that. However there are people like me who are careful, certainly do not ask for it, and yet still get it. What do we get? If you said nothing you are smart.

Heart Shaped Lockets
Summation of the facts and circumstances regarding a Disturbing Intentional Event (DIE) committed within the States and Independent Expeditionary (SANE) sovereign zone in Special Ration Sector (SPECRAT 3) three. An unconscious male was found just outside SPECRAT 3 and was detained as per armistice terms. Subsequent interview by the Ministry of Truth and Confession has confirmed our suspicion of the complete breakdown of what can charitably be considered society in the SANE, and in particular the SPECRAT areas adjacent to our mutual border.
