My shattered life and broken heart is all that's left or so that it would seem Though I long for hope and yearn for love in a world that's sometimes just a dream

Twas a dark and stormy night when a crackle of lightning struck the ground. In the flash that followed a small creature could be seen daintily running by.
Fireflies light the beaten path Leading toward my forgotten past My vision blurring; Memories flash Tears drops flowing; Fall and crash
A battle rages deep within me Violent torrents that keep repeating Though outward calm and peaceful feeling Forces fighting none retreating
The Mad King looks, the Mad King spies The Mad King stares with Mad King eyes Then up from throne he starts to rise He calls the guards then someone dies
The moon the moon in the sky at night Surrounded by the glow of never ending stars This I see in the reflection of a pool of water
The way was harsh and cold; No mercy My men long dead from thirst and scurvy And I alone then took the journey Weak from hunger and days being thirsty
Dark and cold and damp and eerie Gloom and fear and sorrow near me A wicked tree in the light of the moon I walk alone to a silent tune
How long I’ve waited for a storm to come For untempered sky that blocks the sun Yet still no rain nor hail that falls No thunder echoes in silent halls
I wake in the night in fever and sweat With thoughts of the past racing and regret She's there before me my haunting phantom
