My evolution
Growing up in a small midwestern farm town was not all it is cracked up to be. Being “different” was never an option in a one-race, right-sided, religious community. This made life difficult as I had no direction and no idea how to discover myself. I just wanted to be me but who was that? I eventually ran off at 16 and went to California, wow was I in for a shock. Until then the word gay had only been seen as a hate word in my world, so you can imagine how I felt seeing the first Gay-Mart! I had no idea what any of the terms used in the community meant, I was lost and full of hormones.

Dog Gone Irony Top Story - December 2021
This was originally going to be a heartwarming tale of a dog's life past, my old best friend, and our journey together. Of course, I should know by now that my plans never work as they should and today was no exception. A new story was already unfolding as I made the preparations and headed to my office space to begin the story outline.

The Evolution of Troll
What is a troll? Now, the answer to that question remained about the same for centuries, that was until the invention of the world wide web. According to Webster's a troll is a dwarf or giant going back to Scandanavian folklore, a way of fishing, to antagonize others online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content.

Just Be You
I have casually been working on an article about how I pulled off starting a business during the pandemic. That was until earlier today when I encountered an internet troll. I try to stay off of socials as much as possible, and when I post I attempt to always put something positive out there. Today, I found myself defending my life choices to someone who had anger driven by envy. I knew better than to entertain ignorance but, for a moment I indulged. The topic was dropping out of school, something I had done as a teenager. My goal was to provide encouragement to any person reading, that anything really is possible.

The Gentleman and Barista
In a building on a busy city corner, is a cozy little coffee shop. Every day, amongst all the hustle and bustle, came a man for coffee and cake. He would sit in the corner spot by the window and either read his books or doodle in a notebook. In fact, the only days he did not have coffee and more importantly his chocolate cake were the days that the shop was closed. To this he would order a piece of cake to go the day prior, ensuring he would not miss his fix.

A tired soul
On an old abandon farm, in the middle of nowhere, an old barn owl resides. In the dark of the night, he perches on the skeleton of a bare oak tree, calling for a mate and searching the ground below for his next meal. Tonight was no different as he stood under the stars, wishing a suitor would return his calls into the abyss. He has been at this for so long, the old owl can recall when this oak was once a vibrant, lush, tree. A time came years ago when the tree’s soul left this world, along with all the inhabitants, leaving the owl to live out his last years all alone.
