Obesity and decision-making
This is one of those topics I usually avoid. First, because there are lived-experience individuals involved in fat acceptance activism to whom this is an agenda issue. As such, it is not my place to say anything, policy, and movement-wise. Second, because ingesting and digesting the primary scientific literature on this subject requires at least a solid background in physiology, preferably also solid in biochemistry, epidemiology, and, of course, the social sciences. It is by nature an interdisciplinary issue. I have that background but I don't believe in condescendingly shoving information down other people's throats. Unsolicited advice is just that.

The boat, treasures, and the beach
The red and white boat that dad shouldn’t have bought, according to mom, had a purpose: adventures at a semi-desert beach at the São Paulo Northern coastline. I believe that, at the time, Juquehy was a division of the city of São Sebastião.

Lila, I bought a boat
Dad got home: his way from parking the car in the garage, opening the living room door, walking through the aisle into the dining room had the same sounds, light, colors and maybe smells. At the end of the aisle was the dining room and kitchen and people just appeared from the darker aisle into the light.

Finding Dad
Who is my father? Who is this handsome old man looking at me through the cell phone screen, this cute young man with a ridiculous moustache, this blond little kid in an ancient sepia picture with angel wings in some type of pageant, this boy dancing with this girl, couldn’t be older than 15 but they were actually 23 and 25?
