There’s a different kind of beauty in capturing moments without planning.
Modern technology gives us this incredible opportunity to create lifelong physical memories at the snap of our fingers (or, the push of a button). We can capture moments anytime without wasting a second, using a device that fits in our pockets. We can re-live fleeting, intimate moments that may have otherwise left our memories if we hadn’t decided to pull out our phones and snap a quick picture. Think about the random events in your life that you only remember because someone took a picture. Don't you wish there were more?
My favorite part about being the self-proclaimed “photography friend” of my group is all of the weird antics I can get away with in the name of getting a good shot. I have scaled cliffs, climbed trees, laid in the dirt, and hopped fences I shouldn’t have to get us a group photo worthy of putting in a picture frame. It’s a life of risk and adventure and today, I am going to share my secrets so you too can be the awe-inspiring, self-proclaimed photography friend.
In the day-to-day life of an average adult, free time is a rare experience. We work long days. We have a lot of chores to keep up with. We’re lucky if we can even find time to relax, much less focus on what we can do for ourselves. Our well-being is often not our priority, but if you think about it for a minute, you’re actually putting in more effort than you thought you were.
