The Weird Tapes
I found a weird tape in my mailbox today. I had stopped to check the mail on my way home after work, like I do every day. There was the usual assortment of 'pre-approved' credit card offers, unpaid medical bills, and one of those sign-up card things from this stupid magazine my mother used to get once a month. They're still sending the damn promotional materials marked, "Current Resident." Bloodsuckers.

Stay Out of the Lake
Steer clear of the Round Valley Reservoir. Its calm waters and picturesque shores are nothing but lies, meant to draw in unsuspecting prey. Kind of like those flowers that give off the smell of rotting corpses to attract insects. Whatever is in that lake, it is hungry, and it lies in wait, ready to strike.

My Husband's Last Visit
My husband was such a wonderful man. The kind of man that would give any hitchhiker a ride. Even if they were sporting a two-headed ax and covered in blood, he'd say, "Honey, you can't judge a book by its cover, no matter how bad it looks." It was one of the things I always loved about him.

"Lydia, no!" Cam screeched as she shoved him away from her with all her might. Cam felt the ground leave his feet. He was weightless for a split second before gravity took over again and brought him crashing down the staircase to land in a crumpled heap at the bottom.
