Walk Along the Shadows
Walk along in the shadows with me and watch the world fall at our feet. I glanced upon your shoulders. You don’t have to carry as much as me. If you’ll notice the men in their funny hats, they’re dancing around the bloody vats, for they harnessed it and made it their own. They’re only doing what they were shown. Follow the slime and the guts and the grime. We must run now, we’ve run out of time. They’ll smell the sweet scent of the love in our hearts. It’s what they use to rip it apart. I’ve made a safe place here for us to wallow. In the meadows and up on the hill and in the hollow. Where we can fly free. A little place for you and me. The sun will bless us with love and the light and the moon will heal us until we’re sealed up tight. Trusting in all that we see. For he is I and I am she.
