The diet culture trap
Over the years, I have gained a few kilograms. From medication fails to be locked inside, due to Covid-19. Sometimes, my teenage self creeps into my head, because back then, I was too young to understand the societal pressures of being thin. It was thin, or nothing. Big was not beautiful. So, I lost a heap of weight, and not in the healthiest way either. I am now twenty-six years old. I am big again, and I am trying to believe I am beautiful. I changed my perspective and started to follow plus-size accounts on Instagram. It was a nice change to see a bunch of humans from around the world embracing the idea that all bodies are beautiful.

Granmumma's Choc Chip Cookies
My grandma, also known as Mumma or Grandmumma made the best choc chip cookies. I am not bias or anything, they really were the best things that my mouth has ever tasted. She isn't with us anymore, bless her soul, but the family recipe will live on for generations to come (well I hope.)

The Anniversary of Mrs Mable’s Death
Every town has a ghost story that has been passed down from each generation to the next. The small town of Whisper’s Creek was no different. Each Halloween, groups of children would whisper the urban legend to the new kids in town.

Forever friends
Dear sis, The universe got a little brighter the day you were born. Mum loves to tell the story of how I was in the birthing suite watching you be born. Every few minutes I would wipe mum’s face with a wet cloth and go back to have a look at her birthing you, mum’s little helper, she called me. That was the day I met my forever friend, best friends for life.

Tattoo obsession
Before my first tattoo, friends would tell me how addictive tattoos were and I never believed them, until I got my first one. My first one is a small one on my wrist, so insignificant that I always forget it is there. Although, it was enough to make me fall into the trap of tattoo addiction.

I Want Candy!
Just like Lizzie McGuire, I spent a majority of my time as a teen, frothing over boys, especially Aaron Carter. A tiny bit of hope lived inside me that they would like me back, but the chances of a celebrity knowing my name, is quite slim. Life doesn't work like a television show, and I am not Lizzie McGuire.
