Bullying Means He Likes You! (And Other Lies)
I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but there’s a dangerous misconception that bullying equals affection. I’m not talking about playful teasing with your friends, I’m talking about actual harassment and bullying behavior. Especially if you grew up in the public school system, I’m sure you or someone you know has experienced some level of bullying or teasing when you were younger.

Unraveling the Web of Misinformation: Holding Mainstream Media Accountable
In the digital age, information flows rapidly, weaving a complex web that connects individuals, societies, and nations. While this connectivity holds great potential for positive change, it also exposes us to the dangers of misinformation. In this era of fast-paced news cycles, the mainstream media plays a pivotal role in shaping public opinion. However, the power it wields comes with the responsibility of accuracy and integrity -- something the mainstream media severely lacks now more than ever.

The Negative Impact of Drama in Relationships: Navigating the Perils of Unnecessary Conflict
In the intricate dance of human relationships, drama can be a perilous partner that undermines the foundation of connections. While a certain level of excitement and passion is expected in any relationship, toxic drama, characterized by unnecessary conflicts, exaggerated emotions, bringing up hurtful triggers or unresolved feelings, and incessant turmoil, can wreak havoc on the bonds we hold dear.

Navigating the Balance: Toxic Positivity vs Genuine Optimism
I've been reflecting more lately about ways to be more intentional with my energy, and live my daily life with more purpose and productivity. In the midst of reflecting on this, I realized how important it is to really know the difference between toxic positivity and genuine happiness. I don't want to be disingenuous to myself, and pretend I'm all about being positive if I'm not feeling it. I choose to feel all of my emotions and go through the process of being human instead of giving myself trigger phrases like "You've got this!" and "Life's too short to be sad!" I get it, these are great messages to hear and tell others, but personally, I feel they just aren't 100% realistic.

I feel more alone when I’m scrolling on my phone
What does it mean to be depressed and high-functioning? I learned in 2020, in the midst of feeling stuck in a cycle of overeating because I feel bad and then feeling bad for overeating, that I fell into the category of people who are sad yet can perform regular societal duties. I can keep a job, be social, go grocery shopping, take my dog out, make plans, keep plans (surprisingly), and check up on my friends and family. I could give a lot of myself and feel like my heart is so full, and at the same time feel deeply sad and empty. I was good at distracting myself with a Netflix binge or spending way too much money on dinner and drinks with a friend. I could be the funny one in the group I’m with, and later that same night curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep.

Toxic Feminism: How it’s Hurting Men and Women
If you’re seriously interested in real journalism, conversation, and growth (and you’ve been paying attention, and understand that you do not have to sit down and talk to every person you agree with – in fact you shouldn’t because it’s not how you grow and learn,) you obviously see that there’s a shift in our society in the attitudes of women today towards men.

Fighting Racism With More Racism, Is Not The Answer
The worst kinds of racists are the ones who don’t think they’re racist. This disgusting display of an “I’m better than you” and self-righteous attitude, is gross and shameful. I’m pretty sure the majority of people know this is not ok, it’s just that these other voices seem to be more prominent. You know what I'm talking about. We have a generation of youth being raised on TikTok and other garbage social media, poisoning their minds — so just because some people have a platform with millions of followers, doesn’t mean they’re right about anything, they’re just the loudest.

Re: Dear Family: … I’ve had a change of heart
I’ve been wanting to write this piece for a while now, but admittedly I’ve been dragging my feet. I didn’t know how to even begin to address the change of heart and mind that I’ve had. I think one of the best things about writing is the space to be vulnerable, and so that’s what I’m going to allow myself to do now–be vulnerable.

5 Things to Keep Top of Mind When Job Searching
There’s a meme I saw recently that said, “There are two really stressful times in life. One is when you have a job, the other is when you don’t have a job.” This is pretty relatable to the majority of us and personally I’ve found myself being overworked, undervalued, and completely burnt out while working, as well as when I have been in the middle of looking for a new job.
