Grandma's Wisdom
I was twelve when it happened for the first time, Well maybe not the first time, but the first memorable time. Grandma and I were on a road trip. We were gone all summer, our destination was Missouri but we didn't care how long it took to get there. We curved through backroads and stopped at all the tourist locations.

Things I love
Things I love: The way the sunlight streams in from the blinds on April morning The smell of your perfume on my sheets Warm blankets in a cold room The smell of fresh coffee Your hair in my hairbrush The color yellow The feeling of coming home after a long day and taking off your shoes Wearing your clothes to feel your presence Good, authentic Italian food Listening to native French speakers Finding your earrings scattered around my apartment Chubby cats purring on my chest The smell of the air before a big storm The way you hold my hand when I drive Rereading my favorite books in cozy coffee shops Long phone calls with my Grandmother Listening to the clicking of keys as you write the way you smile The faces you make when you don't think anyone is looking The way you say my name The way you look at me when you don't think I'll notice The way you smile when you call me an idiot Your laugh Your mind You You You
