A Beautiful City
Most people think downtowns are such a bad place to be. An ugly place. You know, some actually are scary to walk around but mine is an absolutely beautiful one. No matter what time of the day or year, the view will never get old. I am proud to be living in Cincinnati. Their teams may let me down, but the view will never. The pictures I took above is a span of one day. I was on a restaurant on the water for a yearly WEBN fireworks. One of the best places to go for that event! WEBN is a radio station that hosts fireworks for the end of the year coming. People camp, boat, get hotels, sit in their cars and like me, book a restaurant for front view. The river gets packed with all kinds of boats, it is crazy! So what my restaurant does is that they will serve you a buffet of many many different kinds of foods! Sushi, steak, chicken, vegan ect. You get there a couple hours earlier and have all the food. My family brings card games to play at the table while we wait as well. Right across the street is a little group of different kinds of food trucks that you can buy food and bring back to the restaurant. There are also a lot of people selling light up toys and things that blow out bubbles. The first picture I took is when I first sat down. And the last is obvious, when it started. So throughout the time I was there I would take a picture in the same exact spot I did earlier to have a cool affect. During the fireworks they play songs so that the fireworks go along with the beat. In my experience, I have seen a lot of people have mistakes with these shows. But never this show. The fireworks are controlled electronically so no one has to be on the boat with the fireworks just in case something happens. Because I remember one time I was watching a show and I’m not sure if someone was on the boat or not, but there was this show and it was amazing until some of the fireworks exploded right on the boat which made other ones go off when they were not supposed to in the wrong direction. It was just crazy. But the WEBN fireworks have never had a mistake. People come from all over to see them and I think more people should come! You have to book ahead of time, like a couple months since it is so popular. This is one of my favorite events to look forward to. They do different songs and themes every year so you can’t ever get tired of it. And I mean the view is breathtaking with the water right next to it all. It is amazing that a place could be so simple yet so pretty to look at. It is a good family day for people that want to do more. You can even meet new people who’s tables sit near you. You can have a big group or a small group, you will always find room. You have the choice to sit inside or outside. Of course we always pick outside. It is the best way to see the it but there is a tv inside. It is also a very good place to take any pictures! Including selfies! The water behind you is just breathtaking. It is only January and I am already excited for the fireworks at the end of this year.

True love
Do you think true love is real? Do you think someone could really stay with someone else forever, through all the bad and scary times? I never thought it could be true until I witnessed it with my own eyes. My grandparents have been married for 50 years. They are the cutest couple you will ever see. Their age doesn’t stop their love. They still take care of each other. They still want to make memories. Recently though we have not been able to go anywhere with them. My grandpa has been in and out of the hospital with pneumonia. That whole time my grandma stood by his side wherever he went and no matter what. As time went on he started to recover after days in the hospital. He finally gets to go home. A few weeks go by and we are starting to plan a small vacation for everyone to go on. My grandmas favorite place, the beach. She was so excited to get out of the house and be with her whole family. A couple years ago my grandma had taken in a stray cat that we had found on the side of the road. He was a very young and sick kitten. Had a bunch of bugs. After we had cleaned him up and gotten rid of his bugs she took him home and called him ki-ki. Like kitty kitty. She felt like she was always alone without a pet. She loved him. But of course, my grandpa was not a fan. Most men never at first. Eventually he came around like everyone else. The kitten didn’t like being indoors so he had to be an outdoor cat mostly. My grandma felt alone yet again. Now she is talking about getting a dog since they are known to get attached to their owners more. Weeks of us all talking and seeing if we should get her one, my uncle finds someone who is giving away chihuahua puppies. Without hesitation, he gets one for her and brings the little puppy home. She loved the little baby and he already loved her. He followed her everywhere. He was one of the tiniest puppies I have ever seen. We are all happy that she is happy again until one night my mom gets a call. You know it’s never good if it is at night. It’s my aunt telling us that my grandma had fallen down her stairs and broke her hip and was unconscious. We found out that her puppy has walked right underneath her and she tripped so she did not step on him. We were all freaking out hoping she was okay. We raced over to the hospital and waited for good news. My grandpa never left her side until he was no longer able to. Hours go by and we finally get the good news. She’s out of surgery. My grandpa rushes to her room and sits right next to her and without hesitation takes her hand and comforts her. Watching them together seeing how much they both cared for each other just hit me so hard. I was in photography class so I thought I could do something sweet with the situation. That’s when I took the first picture of them together. I eventually edited it over the days and it turned out perfect! After she recovered I surprised them both for Mother’s Day with the picture framed of them holding hands. It made her cry which made me cry. I will never forget this picture. It hits me so hard. I hope when I’m married my relationship is just like theirs. They have actually found their own true love, forever.

Blue sky and blue waters
To start the story off, we are in Vegas baby! My first time every flying in an airplane. The flight there wasn’t that bad. I was with my family, my mom, dad and brother. My mom gets motion sickness easily so we thought she was going to get sick or something. She never did thankfully. We get to our hotel, which I picked out, it was okay. The only cool thing was how deep the tubs were. Everyday we had something planned but the weather was just throwing us off. You’d think it would be hot there in the middle of summer. But I guess not. We all packed for heat when all it was was rain and cold. I was starting to think this vacation wasn’t going to be the best. We had a full week of things to do. On one rainy day we went to a bunch of hotels and looked around for fun. One of them had a mall inside that had oxygen tubes to breathe in. I’ve seen people do them online and they say they can smell fruit so I talked my mom into doing it. The internet was wrong. They just shove the tubes up your nose and you just breathe. No good smells which was a bummer. They ended up giving everyone a back massage too which was weird. Ended up sitting there for thirty minutes. The next day my mom and I end up being sick. I was starting to think the vacation just couldn’t get any better. But lucky for us one day was a shiny and hot day. The perfect day for water! We had booked a canoe trip before we had arrived and when it was time we made our way to the meeting spot. We were all so excited. We all squeezed into a tiny van with a bunch of strangers and drove to the site. We arrived and I gotta say it was just a beautiful site to look at. I’ve never seen such blue waters before. We get our life jackets and get in our canoes with our partners and go on our way. I’m with my dad and my mom is with my brother. We are supposed to be going to a pretty cave the website had told us. We paddle and paddle what feels like hours and the leader finally tells us to stop and that we’re here. It was literally just a little indent in the rock wall. Wasn’t what we expected which sucked. We get all of our pictures taken and then go on our way back. The bad part was that we had to go upstream. I know for sure I don’t have the muscle for that so my dad did most of the work. We all stopped at a beach and ate some snacks and my mom has taken a picture of me looking at the water. I had switched partners with my mom and we are on our way again. It feels like forever until we finally arrive to the shore. My arms are killing me. Jeez! We get out and all start talking. I see some ducks and start taking pictures of them. Then it is time to go. For me that was the best day. It was one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen and I think people should go visit it! That pretty much just made at least my vacation so much better. I hope people go on family vacations more often. You never know what could happen. Make memories! Because I know will never forget my time at the blue water.
