A-Fib: My Story
My first experience with A-fib was when I was in my early 20’s. I was in my apartment, standing on a stool trying to grab a sweater from the top shelf of my closet. All I did was twist and hold my breath at the same time and my heart stated to pound out of my chest. After a couple of minutes, I decided I should lay on my bed to make it go away faster. Probably about 10 minutes after it started it went away. I really didn’t think anything of it at the time.

The Not-So-Easy Side Hustle
We all want it. The quick and easy ‘how I made 10,000 in 30 days’ side hustle. You see ads everywhere promising the unimaginable, making thousands of dollars with no time, money or effort. We know in our heart of hearts this is too good to be true, but yet we believe it. We believe that if we click on a post they will tell us the secret to becoming rich. My question is: if it were true, wouldn’t everyone be rich?

Is there Really a Labor Shortage?
A very long story short, I am looking for a job. Yes, I have skills, education, and drive, but I am having a hard time finding a place to even look at my resume much less hire me. I thought there were plenty of jobs available? What is going on?

The Pearl NecklaceTop Story - July 2022
I remember back in the 80s, when I was a girl, my mother bought her first "real" pearl necklace. She was so excited. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She never had her own money, never had a job, never had a feeling of independence. She was always at home taking care of her children. When I turned 12, this all changed.

"You Can Always Adopt"
I was 40 years old when I first started trying to get pregnant. My boyfriend was 52. Needless to say, I knew the cards were stacked against us. Neither one of us had children, and we felt we were finally in the right relationship to start trying.

Dealing with Bad Book Reviews
The first book I ever wrote was actually just self-published within the last month. I decided I wanted to write about something that I knew a fair amount about. It is about options trading, specifically covered calls in options trading. It was something that I researched and taught myself after trying to get others to teach me. I always have friends and family who ask me how to get started in it, so I wrote a guide on what it is and how to execute. The "book" literally took me years to write. Not because I didn't know how to do it, but I just didn't have the time, nor really took the time to write. You know how life just sometimes gets in the way.

Campfire Ghost Story
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. It looked like one of those candles that were battery powered and wasn’t really made of wax. I know that because my mother used to have hundreds of them in her house. My sister and I used to joke that when dusk rolled around everyday the house would look like a funeral home, with all the battery powered “candles” strewn about and flickering endlessly.

My Dad
My father was an over the road truck driver when I was growing up. He was home maybe one night a week. We never had family dinners or family vacations. He never attended any school awards ceremony I had or a school play that I was cast in. He never went with us to church. People always thought I never had a father, no one asked about him, no one mentioned his name. It was assumed he was just like all the other MIA dads. Long gone and long forgotten by the family.
