Their Game
"Run. Get yourself out as quick as you can. Your life depends on it." The spotty message ended off my holographic watch. I stared at the blank space where my number one techie's image had been. After months - if not years - and watching that video dozens of time, I was finally here. End of the line. I remember being taken, the struggle of trying to be free when my body couldn't move. It took so much investigation and pain to determine that I was locked in a fake reality. Whatever they'd done to me, however long I'd been here, I was about to be rid of it. Before me, the small red crystal hovered. As soon as I broke it, I would be free!

We Can't All Be Heroes
Scalding water burned the back of my neck as I stood in the blank bathroom. The brass footed tub was a stark white. The plastic shower curtain teased transparency, but was just opaque enough to not be seen through. The clean white of the sink sparkled underneath the blinding bright light of the single florescent bulb illuminating the room. The toilet sat across from the sink, the shower across from the solid white door with a brass knob perfectly cleaned to gleam as if it were still new. A window let natural light in from behind the shower. The small glass opening was the only thing contrasting the light gray walls. The only sounds in the room were that of the water hitting the basin of the bathtub and the loud fan that kept the perfectly reflective mirror from getting fogged over. Of course, due to the length of my shower, it got dirtied anyways. I ran my hands through my hair, my mind taking me somewhere I'd rather be.

The Volcano's Heart
48 hidden weapons. Insanely powerful and gifted to the planet K'Torah by someone unknown. Other planar? Perhaps a powerful entity. Of course, the weapons given were found easily. Such a technologically magically advanced society made everything easy to conquer via engineering or magical means. They took the gifts, and tore them apart, harvesting the magic from the powers and putting them together, combining the 48 into 12 and putting them under drastic protection. A single mistake on the journey to obtain these weapons could easily lead to immediate death.
