The COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic is the most destructive and lethal biological disaster the world has ever seen since the Spanish Flu. It has caused a global economic travesty that hasn't been seen since the Great Depression. Many manufacturing companies, businesses and industrial sectors were forced to shut down. Universities and schools had to close. Events and conventions have been cancelled. Entire countries had to close their borders. New sweeping government-sanctioned regulations coerced people into staying home and limiting their presence in public. There are no public gatherings, parties, and get-togethers allowed and people have to wear masks and maintain a distance of two meters or six feet to mitigate the spread of the virus. To this date, it has claimed more than 3.4 million lives and is responsible for over 166 million confirmed cases worldwide.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro
Since the colonial era, Brazil has been a regional power of South America. With plenty of natural resources and immense land size for agricultural production, it isn't a surprise to see how Brazil earned this title. But in recent years, Brazil became a poster child of absolute recklessness. Corruption and economic crimes spread across the country like a tidal wave. To understand how this came to pass, we must take a look at Brazil's recent history.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
I remember well when Justin Trudeau made headlines in 2015 for a spot in Canada's coveted top office. His victory as a member of the federal Liberals made a big splash that was felt in many countries around the world. I guess we can see why his name was plastered all over international newspapers, magazines and news outlets from different television channels. Even people who haven't even heard of Canada's current prime minister at the time learned about him through these sources of information. He is young, charismatic and seemed progressive and open for opportunities. But not all that glitters is gold. It has been over five years since Justin Trudeau has been Canada's Prime Minister. We have seen plenty of surprises, and I have been surprised as well. Trudeau has done great things for the Canada too and I have noted them as well.

A Critique on the Public High School System
I find when a student reaches high school level he/she will start making important choices regarding their adulthood. I believe the high school system should be responsible in nurturing developmental desires in adolescent students and guide them to make appropriate decisions that will greatly benefit them in the future. Of course, there will always be students who won't take this seriously and take it as a joke. Naturally, this period of their lives will the most carefree months ever. After they graduate from high school, they will be forced to look at career prospects, post-secondary institutions, paying bills and so on. As I attended high school, I took cooking, sewing, and computer classes. There wasn't enough room for mechanics and other things. But they should make room. As I attended these classes, some of my classmates fooled around, thinking they will never need the knowledge they acquire from these classes. They are obligated to be taught the most important necessities of adulthood even if they do resist. Maybe they will rethink their attitude and go along with it. One could only hope.
