Bulls in the China Shop
Hello, my name is Byron. Why does that matter? We'll get to that. Today is a big day. Today, I finally get to compete. I grew up hearing stories of my brothers competing once they were old enough. But I am the youngest, and nobody ever thought that I'd compete. Perhaps I could own a field, and graze to my heart's content. Or maybe I could be sold onto a farm. Sometimes, my brothers even joked that I could end up in trouble, breaking things in a China Shop. But all that doesn't matter anymore, because today, I actually get to compete.

Reunion
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m me. Oh, you wanted my name. Well, that isn’t important. What is important is that I have had a curse thrust upon me. I have been cursed to roam. I am a wanderer. Never quite placing my roots all the way down. Never quite getting too close to anyone for fear that they might be hurt. You see, I am being hunted. Yes. He has been looking for me my entire life. It’s important that I continue to roam, because the second he finds me, he’ll kill me. Worse than that, he will kill everyone I love out of spite. So I stay away from them. I haven’t seen my mother in years. I don’t even know if my grandfather is still alive. But it’s for their own safety. I am a curse upon our family.

Crossing Paths
Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom, there lived a princess. She was an average-looking princess with pale green eyes and long brown hair. Nothing special. Special were her two younger sisters Amelia and Penelope. They both had striking red hair and bright blue eyes. So it was a shame to the eldest princess Ophelia that she was to be married. For she was not as beautiful as her younger siblings and besides, she had other things she longed to do.

2021, let good deeds be done!
As we ring in the new year, I (like many others I'm sure) are wondering if by ringing in a new year, we can ring in a new year completely unlike the weird and scary year that 2020 was. 2020 was surreal and completely different than any other that I have lived. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there were many strange and scary years that happened before my birth. But 2020 was different somehow. It felt like at any moment, things could come crashing down around you. And I don't know about you, but life sure felt like it came crashing down around me. From covid scares to quarantine, from losses to cars being broken into, from car accidents and brain injuries; life still goes on, even in 2020.
