Meditative Medium
For me creating in any form has always been a contemplative exercise. As an Expert Registered Yoga + Children's Yoga Teacher/Trainer and Craniosacral Healer, I also share this with clients or it will often come up for them during healing sessions. When we give our right (creative) side of our brain the space to do as it wishes, we allow intuition to flow and naturally come into a parasympathetic and meditative state. It's a beautiful way to help us process deeper thoughts and emotions, particularly if 'meditation' in the formal sense many see it as, is not your thing. Personally, I believe meditation can be found in our day to day, and in fact this can help us to be more present - which is what meditation is all about. We don't need to sit like Buddha for this to happen... it's actually quite challenging for most.

Wearable Art
Since I have been a child, one of my favourite things to do was create gowns... yes the most luxurious, classic dresses I could imagine. Perhaps Disney influenced my creative spirit, but I loved to make something I felt luxurious in, even if it began with turning a bath towel into so much more! If you were to look back at my school notes, you will see dress upon dress on the pages. I did pay attention, but found I was more attentive in ways when my hands were occupied... and what occupied them was creating beautiful dresses first drawn from the back. At 10 I was creating my own magazine filled with these images, and other how-to etc sections. And yes, I was that child and teen that cut my clothes to create something a little more interesting. As you might imagine, when I learned to sew I was ecstatic! I could finally bring to life what I was creating in my mind and on paper. I must admit that my skills to translate my mental images didn't translate precisely to patterns, so I sought out help with this from a dress designer when needed. She and I worked closely and she taught me some tips and tricks, including helping me to translate my grad dress design.

the gloWithin
Since I was about twelve, my vision was to support others in finding greater peace, love and joy in their lives. I had NO idea what to do with this at such a young age, especially when I was expected to follow a more traditional career, or so I thought. Unravelling what this actually looks like has been an incredible journey and brought me so much personal joy (and challenges) in creating and bringing this vision to life. I have worked in finance, HR, operations management, created my own community space/ yoga studio as a space for others to share their passions, and made an amazing pivot in the last year after closing the studio due to covid.

Inspiration + Grace
Where do I begin? My Mam (Irish for Mom) intuitively inspired my life mission. I believe strongly that we choose our parents, as they are often our greatest teachers in life - sometimes more nurturing and others more through challenges. They teach us what our soul needs to grow, as do many other impactful people in our lives, but I would like to focus on the incredible woman who has been there for me through thick and thin.

Fresh Lemon Coconut Bites
These Are My Favourite Little Nutritious Bites! I have been making variations of these tasty, nutritious bites for over 20 years now - yes, since I was a teen! And yes, my sister and bro made fun of me for being a health freak, although my sister did want to open a bakery with me so I could do the healthy treats and she could do the full butter side - not a bad idea! I am hypoglycemic, so having a well-balanced snack on me at all times is essential, and was super critical as a growing and very athletic teen.

Inner Child Healing
If the Earth didn’t get tilted, we wouldn’t have seasons. Connecting + Nurturing our Inner Child Connecting to and nurturing our Inner Child is at the essence of all my offerings. Why? Our Inner Child is our pure soul, our passion, our light, and connected to our purpose. Somewhere along the way for many of us we get somewhat disconnected from this essence, especially during challenging times in our lives - yet this is the time we need to nurture this part of ourselves the most. Through connecting to and nurturing our Inner Child, we become re-acquainted with what truly brings us peace, love, joy, and natural flow in our lives.

What is Resilience?
What is Resilience? Resilience is defined as our ability to bounce back from and adapt to new situations - a big theme for this past year. Something to contemplate and give yourself a big hug for. While there are many types of resilience, they really boil down to these 4:

Creating Bliss
A Path to Bliss through the 8 Limbs The 8 Limbs of Yoga (found in Patanjali’s Sutras) are a path for anyone to find their inner peace, love, and joy. These simple and beautiful yoga principles offer us a way to true bliss. I don’t believe there’s a one solution to fit all - this journey is very personal, and it’s important to find the path that brings you joy. It’s a journey, not a destination to connect to and nurture our Inner Child, our gloWithin.

14 Benefits of Yoga for Children + Teens
What is Kids Yoga? Yoga for Kids and Youth is the same as for adults in that, I believe yoga is a very personal experience - we each connect to it differently and that needs to be honoured. Ask anyone who practices how they came to it. Was it through the physical practice? Meditation? Breathwork? Vedic story and writings? In that same vein, we need to respect where each of us are at and appreciate that children come to yoga for their own reasons too. We also need to respect that we each learn differently, and that children learn primarily through play and their senses - generally visually and kinetic dominant. Children under 7 are in the process of grounding, so physical experiences such as yoga, can greatly support this development. As we grow and develop our own learning styles, we learn more through other ways and can focus more on our own inner experience, relationships to others and discussion.
