Kaldheim is coming!
Another quarter, another Magic: The Gathering set! I know the official release date is February 5th, but (if game stores are still offering SOMETHING) the pre-release date is January 29th, which is still within my birthday month ... and, considering this is a Norse mythology/viking-themed set, and I am 1/8th Norwegian, you can probably guess that I MUST treat myself to ALL of the cards next week!

Where Do I Start?
I've had a love-hate relationship with make-up for as long as I can remember. I remember my aunt buying me blue eyeshadow when I was a pre-teen, because I wanted it ... I think I used it once? Still not sure if it was just the wrong colours for my face, or if it looked awful because I didn't know what I was doing. (Maybe both!)

Advice for Parents, Investing with Youth
When I was younger, I put all of my Christmas and birthday cheques into a chequing and/or savings account. I don't want to say it was ALL by personal choice -- thank you Dad -- but I don't remember necessarily being upset by doing this.

Why I Want to Foster Teenagers
When I was a little girl, I was convinced I would marry at 20, and have five kids before I was 30. I dreamed of marrying young, having a large family, and being a stay-at-home mom. (Maybe that's why it took me forever to figure out my dream career ... I never thought I would really need one.)

New Moon Intentions
We just had our first New Moon of 2021, January 12th (or 13th, depending on where you are in the world). Did you know the New Moon is the perfect time to set intentions? This means, if you've gone a little sideways with your resolutions, or later in the year you're wanting to make a new change, there are a dozen perfect opportunities throughout the year. A dozen opportunities for a fresh start at your goals, your dreams, your greatest desires.

Take the Classics Out of High School
I remember reading three Shakespeare plays in high school: Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, and As You Like It. I also read bits from the Odyssey and the Iliad by Homer in Grade 10, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Crucible by Arthur Miller in Grade 11, and Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell in Grade 12. Without my teachers, I would've never understood the novels and plays ... in fact, I probably never would've even read any of them in the first place.

I thought I was Aquarius!
I am a proud Aquarius! My mother is an Aquarius, as is my older brother. I have the zodiac symbol tattooed on my ankle (one of the body parts Aquarius rules). I've ALWAYS connected with being an Aquarian -- quirky, unique, non-conforming, a visionary.

Perfectly Natural
I always tell people I got "the talk" from my parents at 10 years old, by my Dad having me watch American Pie with him. ... It's a half-truth. I mean my parents actually gave me "the talk", on two separate occasions, by trapping me in a car. (Again, not REALLY "trapping" me, just deciding that while we're taking a 30-minute drive and I can't escape, let's just talk about this. Great parenting technique, FYI -- effective, and memorable for your kids.)

Instagram vs TikTok
I don't enjoy being the center of attention. When I started my new career path of life coaching, the advice I received from EVERYONE (a dozen different coaches) was "put yourself out there on social media". This was June 2020 ... it took me six months to find my groove, and it's still a work in progress.
