Karissa E.L. Cuff
I breathe in words and bleed in sentences. Writing is my love language.
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Not in real life, just in my dream. The cabin was made of soggy wood, rotting from rain and neglect. Termites gnawed at the remaining supports that held up a crooked roof. All around, trees rustled, singing a song of dread and impending doom. A low fog hung between them like a deserted hammock.
The Empress and the Armies
There weren't always dragons in the valley. There weren't always Demon-Soldiers patrolling the streets of every town in Vethea. There weren't always ruins of castles and remnants of empires long fallen littering the countryside. But then again... Vermonia Wraizath hadn't always been Empress.
It was just another ordinary day. Just another ordinary day until... it wasn't. The raindrops raced each other down the foggy window, like tears caressing the glass. Theo watched them hypnotically, letting all other thoughts empty from his head, quietening as they did so.
