Dragon's Lair
Little Martha was only seven years old when she was left to fend for herself in the Forest of Dragons. A sacred place where it was thought that these mystical beasts lived. No human eye had ever seen one, but stories thrived about them in the village. It was said they caused death and destruction wherever they went.

Some Kind of Sweet
Scents. A funny thing. Bringing back memories of the past. Which was what snapped me out of my daydream of having sugar cookies with crushed candy cane icing for dinner. I'd eaten too many salads lately, trying to get my size 20 to a nice respectable 14. All thoughts disappeared when that scent wafted into my nostrils, made me forget about cookies and sizes. Just that scent, there was no room for anything else. Vanilla. It was what he smelled like, what he tasted like.

Mushrooms Anyone?
There were wild mushrooms growing by the forest path I was walking on with my rubber boots. It would surprise you what I find in forests, fields and beaches. I am quite the forager. So, when I came across a bunch baby chanterelle mushrooms I was ecstatic! I picked quite a few, ate some and continued onward, quite happy with myself. They were gritty and could use a little butter and salt. My wife would be quite pleased with my find. A little later, kung fu fighting with red-eyed dragons, I thought perhaps they were not chanterelle mushrooms after all.

The Bluff
It was my idea to have a picnic on the edge of the bluff overlooking the ocean on Gabriola Island. I had a friend who had a small resort on the island that was closed down for renovations. I thought it was the perfect place to have picnic lunch with Tom. It was supposed to be a romantic time. And it was. I packed my favourite wine (a nice Shiraz from Australia), pesto chicken paninis, prosciutto and cheese salad, strawberries dipped in chocolate and a banana. Because I eat about three bananas a day. I can't get enough of them. Tom was forever teasing me about my strange obsession with the yellow fruit.
