As a user generated platform, Vocal is home to the stories of over 700,000 creators who are creative, authentic, and authorities in their spaces. Whether they are fitness instructors sharing their expertise or beauty gurus giving product recommendations, our creators have a ton of advice and experience to share with their audiences.
At Vocal, we’re all about supporting initiatives that make a difference. We do our best to use the platform we have to speak up for change, and to put our money where our mouth is; we support causes we believe in, we incorporate donations into as many Challenge prizes we can, and now we’re excited to announce our most recent effort: Joining Stripe Climate, which allows us to automatically donate a portion of our revenues to efforts to helping the environment.
The introduction of Vocal+ has been, to date, the biggest update for Vocal since we launched the platform nearly four years ago. We first introduced it to you, our community, through Founding Memberships: one year subscriptions to Vocal+ for our first early adopters, who tested out the membership in exchange for their feedback to help us build a better subscription.
We’ve been exceedingly lucky over the past three years to have fostered a platform built on the values of rewarding creativity and coming together over shared passions. You, as creators and as our partners, have made this possible with your support and your sense of community, and we expect to continue helping you share your stories with the world for a long time to come.
Today we’re excited to introduce Challenges, a new way for creators to get inspired and join the rest of the Vocal community in some friendly competition. Starting this week, creators will be able to participate in various Challenges across a range of topics and interests for the chance to win cash prizes, experiences, and much more.
There’s no one right way to tell a story. Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes, and we want to see what yours looks like. Challenges are meant to inspire this creativity, and we want to see you tell a story that’s unique and authentic to you—but there are just a few things we look for across the board to be sure we’re judging every entry consistently and fairly.
