A Setter’s Mind
It has been almost a decade since I fell in love with playing volleyball. The mechanics and the gameplay itself have brought me into the world of a sport where I became the maneuver of the team's ever aspired victory. From my perspective as someone who plays the game, not all people appreciate the role of a setter. The vitality of that position as the ignition of the team's offense makes difference, especially when he was able to feed the ball to his attackers. As setter delivers, he’s in charge of leading the team towards the pot of gold, claiming their hard-earned victory.

The Superbowls Of the Filipinos
Basketball, boxing, and beauty pageants are the three Bs or the local super bowl that the Philippines takes great pleasure in. Considering their enormous following and influence, these fields could be as well as our nation's trademark. Do you recall when Pacman first gained popularity? Not only domestically, but also in his big championship fights worldwide, smashing record after record? With the comeback of the popularity of MMFF in this post pandemic era, does it equate with the improving quality films of Philippine cinema?

Past Lives: A melting candle of love.
Unrequited love is one of the most enduring and compelling concepts in films. It's a theme that has been dealt with in numerous films, with each presenting its own distinct perspective on the sorrow, desire, and beauty of unfulfilled love. One of the most fascinating characteristics of unrequited love is its capacity to elicit a strong sensation of "What if?" What if things had gone differently? What if feelings were expressed? What if the timing had been correct? All of these questions were gracefully portrayed in Past Lives (2023)---an Oscar nominated film directed by Celine Song.
