Islam is a religion that promotes peace, unity, and equality. It comes from the Arabic language and means "Peace," "Security," and "Surrender." Muslims are people who follow the religion of Islam. Muslim means "one who gives up his or her life peacefully to God." Muslim doesn't mean anything about a certain race. Anyone of any race, caste, colour, or region can be a Muslim. Because of this, Islam means submitting to God, because our Lord doesn't care what colour, caste, or region someone is from. A Muslim is someone who gives their lives over to God. Islam is the only religion that has a complete set of rules for all aspects of life, including morality, spirituality, economics, politics, society, intellect, etc. Islam is the second largest religion in the world. It has more than 1.5 billion followers, which is about a fifth of the world's people. About one in five people around us are Muslim. So, we can say that it is a religion or faith that is practised all over the world and not just by people of one colour, nation, or race.
