There’s Something Right About Chaos Walking
Please be aware this article is not spoiler-free. Thank you. Chaos Walking basically went to hell. Development hell that is. Thanks to poor initial screen tests for the film early on, it was sent back for reshoots several times, which caused a two-year delay.
There’s Something Wrong With Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) [Spoilers]
Godzilla vs. Kong is not a “good” movie to watch in the traditional sense. In fact, the CGI is the standout element in this messy movie. It’s messy because it doesn’t know whether to call itself a creature movie or a movie about people trying not to be cruel to animals — even titans. Here’s a hint: if you want to watch a movie about two hugely popular yet fictional monsters, you don’t need actual actors to do anything. Godzilla and Kong do this movie justice, and they are the only thing in it worth seeing, period.
"A World Where Anything is Possible" - Neo, The Matrix. [If This, Then That Challenge].
If you're reading this, then you believe in the possibility that The Matrix isn't the only cyberpunk/fantasy/sci-fi film out there worth watching. You've been on that journey of discovery since 1999... searching for something, anything that relates to a dystopian world controlled by an oppressor, whether that be machine or man.
Netflix's The One - TV Show Review [SPOILERS]
Imagine being able to find your “one true love” as easily as using a dating app like Tinder, for example. Rebecca and her science partner James discover a way to use genetics to find the perfect match. When Rebecca realizes just how this discovery can change everything, she decides to betray her best friend. However, she appears to be unaware of the chain reaction of destruction she has put into play. Whether or not Rebecca was completely unaware is hard to tell. Once you get to know what she is like as a person, for me, she became the prettiest ugly person I’d ever seen in a TV show. And reminds me of the saying, “beauty is only skin deep”.
Netflix's Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer (2021)
The world is in awe of serial killers. In awe in the sense that we set ourselves apart from these animals, these “monstrosities” to make ourselves feel better and safe. Yet, we still find something undeniably intriguing about them. Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer aims to show us every angle as two Los Angeles detectives recount their experience of hunting down Richard “The Night Stalker” Ramirez, one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.
Netflix's Sweet Home - Season One Review
Netflix has been doing relatively well this year with interesting and binge-worthy content, and that's where Sweet Home fits right in. For those feeling a little adventurous and looking for a way to forget about 2020 completely, this series is sure to satisfy.
Netflix's Behind Her Eyes - TV Show Review
Behind Her Eyes is a dark and twisted tale that focuses on the relationships of four people destined to meet. The series begins with single mother Louise (Simona Brown), who finds herself falling for the mysterious stranger she meets randomly in a bar. They have a strong physical attraction right from the start, so Louise can’t figure out why this man suddenly begins to act like being with her is a crime.
There's Something Wrong With Cherry (2021)
This article features spoilers for Cherry. Based on a not so true story. So let's begin there. For those of you who don't know what Cherry is or for any non-cinephile types who might be Tom Holland fans, Cherry is a semi-biographical film adaptation of a book written by Nico Walker. Please pay special attention to the words "semi-autobiographical". Can anything in life be half a lie? Half-truths? That doesn't sound anywhere near as "gripping" as semi-biographical, but it's still only partially the truth. This critique of Cherry sits comfortably somewhere between Tom Holland’s finest work and the worst movie he’s ever been attached to.
