The take over
I remember having a dream, it was one of the craziest dreams I ever had. It all started as I was driving down Highway 183 in a brand new Dodge duly and I noticed on the side of the door is JB construction. I knew I was headed to a construction site and I was the boss and I had problems that came up in the blue prints and I was in a hurry to get there. Then the phone rang I picked it up as I was driving and it was my wife, she was a the head administrator of a major hospital. The only existing hospital within 5000 miles. She said that she had some problems at the hospital so she had to head in, she then said that Angela our daughter would watch her sister Sadie but I would need to hurry back home if I could as soon as possible. So then I called my main man James. Who I could always depend on, I got things worked out on the phone so I could turn around and head home to watch the kids. Then about that time Angela called and said dad when are you gonna come home? She sounded stressed and she said that a bunch of men in suits came knocking on the door asking where is your father and when will he be back and how much money does he make, and how much money can we take. That really got me shook, so I punched it giving it as much throttle as I could, to head home because I knew in my dream my oldest daughter was only 13 years old, but a deeper darker secret was hidden in my gut, almost like I was a fugitive or outlaw. My brand new house was the only house on the block in the subdivision that was whole. I was building the whole subdivision over 250 houses but across the street from us. There were a few houses with just the frames up, covered in plastic and behind one of those houses was several unmarked cars they look like cops or federal agents. My gut feeling turned into a panic as I got off the truck and ran into the house. About that time my wife pulled up, she must’ve known also and got the phone call from our daughter, because she ran into the house. My daughters were also panicking for some reason they were getting backpacks together loading them up as if they were going on the run. When I looked out the window, I could see several men in suits peeking through the plastic. I said out loud in my house, I wish these guys would just come the hell over here and tell me what the hell they want or what the hell they need! Exactly at that moment I saw them cut the plastic and several of them came out with guns in their hands headed towards my front door to kick it in. My wife looked at me and I looked at her she said it’s time, those words echoed in my head several times. Then she grab my 10-year-old daughter Sadie and I grabbed Angela as we ran down to the basement. Where a trap door that lead to a under ground tunnel that came out to the woods, we ran about a quarter mile. It was crazy because I still didn’t know what was going on but I was going with the flow and I was not gonna let anything happen to my family no matter what, I felt so much love them to die for. We came to a camouflage barn hid under the trees. Inside a deck out fully armed jeep was in it, we all jumped in with our backpacks, there was a satellite phone in it and I called my brother. In my dream my brother was a coach of a football team a very popular football team, that one the movie Rudy was made about. I yelled at him it’s time! Again the words echoed through my mind, not even knowing myself what its means, but feeling like I’m gonna find out. I heard him take a breath, like a -oh my God breath and then he said meet me at my crib downtown. I was driving this jeep like I stole it, and my family was not even afraid I looked in the mirror and seen my kids, praying underneath my breath. It was as if they were ready for it, like they been trained for this day all of their life. I still didn’t know what was going on but I knew it was something major. We then got to my brothers place. It was a house on stilts, that you could drive under and the stairs leading up to the door, up on the second floor and cameras everywhere’s all around it. I saw young children playing jump rope about a block away I started to get a secure sense of feeling again as my family rushed up the stairs. I had the key and the moment I unlocked and opened up the door. I felt a hesitation as if someone was sitting down behind it and sure enough there was a man behind it. Maybe he was leaning asleep against the door and didn’t realize I was coming in but when he pushed against the door, I smashed him between the door and the wall and I saw his gun drop and then we started to fight I hit him with my elbow and then I hit him with my fist, but it took several other hits to knock him out. He was very well trained in some form of martial arts. I then grab the gun as my family ran back downstairs. We could hear someone rummaging through the house, headed are way. The children that were down the street playing jump rope, we’re now walking our way shooting with machine guns. My brother and some of the football team pulled up. They started firing back, the small children that were shooting they looked so innocent when we pulled up. Then a bullet struck me in my arm knocking me down, my brother had to pull me behind the suv as he fired several shots telling the girls to stay down. Several different vehicles pulled up, it was my brother’s whole team and they were getting out fast as they could surrounding me protecting me, possibly saving my life and my families life. My brother asked if I was ok and I said yes, with bullets in the air still, my brother smiled at me and said I’m proud of you, then he looked at me very seriously and said don’t worry your family‘s gonna be ok with me, do what you have to do bro and god be with you. He then hugged me and kissed me on the cheek with tears in his eyes as if he would never see me again, it really scared me because I still didn’t know what the reason or the purpose, what is happening. All of this was happening in my dream, it was blowing my mind, but didn’t reveal the whole picture to me yet. I was running scared but I wasn’t gonna back down from anything. Then I kissed my wife and girls goodbye as my brother drove away with them and two of the vehicles went with them the rest followed me, as I drove a suv with some of the football team members and people that worked on the team. It was so quiet in that vehicle, you could hear a pin drop. Their were nine of us in the one I was driving, I swear I could see their thoughts in their faces but my thoughts were louder. Finally I caught eyes with one, through the rearview mirror, he was sitting in the backseat and he was shaking his head looking right at me. It was a very weird feeling as if I knew him or he knew me or been watching me. We got closer to the destinations I was driving to, he said in a whispering voice they’re going to get you, you can’t hide from them. Then at that time I pulled up to my old neighborhood where I grew up, a revelation came to my mind when I got off and talk to the people at the gate. It surrounded the whole neighborhood a man and a woman dressed in military uniform but the neighborhood that called M-town they had in M-town on the arm as if they were police or army guards for this small neighborhood but that is now in town. In my dream the revelation told me that neighborhoods will become cities and have their own mayors and laws and this was one of them. We had to leave our vehicle at the front gates and then I told him, the scary words, it is time! The words have been echoing through my mind and I saw that man and that lady that were smiling at me, their faces turn very serious and they said get in the gates as fast as you can as they chambered their machine guns. They pushed me! It scared me, I said their right behind me, I started to panic, then the woman turned around and said Joe thank you for the medicine you gave my grandmother she’s going to live, she then screamed I love you as she pulled the trigger at all white cars pulling up at least twenty or more. At that time as we were running away from the gates I started to realize that were at war with some alternate universe evil government and it scared the hell out of me. While we were running we could still hear the machine guns blazing and it wasn’t stopping. Actually at this point in the dream it never stopped, it felt so life like, so real I can smell the gun powder, it turned into a war zone. We ran several blocks to what used to be a old recreational center. Another revelation, it was a undercover medical center for elderly people because I realize that the government now had fallen through, the cities had their own mayors and no one to care for elderly people. At this time in the future when one aspirin was $250 dollars, there was no Medicare or Medicaid. If you got the common cold, you died unless you were rich. All of this hit me like a ton of bricks it took my breath away. I saw thousands of elderly people outside the building and they all recognize me and they started to surround me touching me thanking me and the people were saying we love you! God bless you! The modern day Robin Hood! Thank you Joe! Then guards yelled get inside the center as we were walking to another house and I realize it was a house where my grandma use to live. She had passed away years before but now this house was guarded like Fort Knox with so many people outside of it with Weaponry I never seen before Getting ready for god knows what and who knows who! People were saluting me, saying god bless this country! The Man that was in the backseat shaking his head saying they’ll get you now looked at me with tears in his eyes. He said I didn’t know that you were saving and helping the elderly, I didn’t know you were doing all of this! He said we were just after you because your construction company was a front for moving illegal drugs for rich people, wait-why? So the poor elderly could live! Elderly people will die if they don’t! If…because…they didn’t have their drugs! their medication, just to live, just to survive! He screamed. He then pulled his wire off of his chest and stepped on it and said because what I seen today, I’ve devote the rest of my life to you. Another revelation was revealed, oh as I walked into my grandmothers house. My wife is the head administrator of the hospital would buy drugs wholesale for the elderly, drugs that they needed like medicine to live, medicine for diabetics and hundreds of more medicines that medicare used to take care of before the downfall. Then we walked into room with a hundred million dollars on the table and then I told Thomas the under cover agent at the same time the revelation told me look at all this money on the table. Nobody steals it, we don’t lock the doors everybody trust everybody here, we all work together as a team, a family. This is blood money, Money that pays off the corrupt government officials, your ex-people. That is why they will never catch me, they will never get me, it’s called love, loyalty and respect. Next we walked into another room where it seem to be endless desk with people on the phones as far as I could see. My grandmother‘s old house had been converted into a big base, with the American flag above everyone that says in God we trust. Again the revelation as I spoke, I also revealed to myself the plan. I yelled listen up people! This is it! This is not a drill! This is the real deal! Everybody was talking on their phones, hundreds of people sitting at computer desk, they all stopped, they looked up at me. I said the words that haunt me til this day. This is real- it’s time! Make your phone calls it’s time for the government takeover! God speed! They started calling neighborhoods like Fifth-ward and Riverside, Bourbon street and thousands more neighborhoods that were now city’s. It’s time to take back what belongs to the people from this corrupt government! I screamed I woke up really screaming in a cold sweat not afraid of what could happen to me but afraid of what could possibly come true. Thank God it was just a dream.

Light
I don’t know if you have the time to hear this rhyme but I know I fell from the sky and I turned to evil in the dark of land. When I met man we despised a plan. A plan to rule, a plan to enslave, a plan to make it all our own way. I couldn’t hear, I couldn’t see, I closed my eyes to the light you see. I felt all powerful, nothing can stop me. I’ll build a tower and shoot an arrow, I cursed the sky and killed the sparrow. I was in the dark and I thought I was in control but it was the dark that had control of me. I was so blind I couldn’t see, trying to find a way out but I couldn’t break it, I knew I only had an ounce of life left so I couldn’t fake it. Then I saw a small speck of light, I cried, I plead, I ran all night, I chased it all around the earth, until I called its name, it birthed. Into more light brighter than the sun, I knew this was a way out, oh my evil fun was over and I’ll never go there again, the light brought me through the darkness and I never will find my way back, those footsteps are washed away, this is a brand new day, I’m gonna make it to them golden gates and rejoice with love because there’s no more hate. One LOVE!

Push
I woke up in a ditch upside down in my service truck. I remember I was at work running a road call to work on a broke down 18 wheeler. I had a bunch of used tires in the back of my truck and then I remembered I saw the flash, the skylight up and heard the blast. I was stuck in my seatbelt and my head was bleeding I didn’t think I was gonna make. Then I thought about my daughter is she ok? She needs you, push yourself, push harder, move! Then the heart shaped locket, it falls out of my right pocket the one I was going to give her, it was a picture of us with her mother, her mother passed away a few years ago. A memory of love that pushed me every step of the way, every day. I grind my teeth my pain grew numb and I reach for the knife in my back pocket and cut my seatbelt as I fell I kept an eye on the locket. The windows of my truck were covered in the black tar substance and I was in a river. I could hear the water flowing. I could break the glass but I couldn’t push through the rubber I had to find a tool inside the truck, yes a prybar that I left inside the cab. I started cutting through the rubber with my knife and pry bar and water started coming in. I pushed my way through out of the truck with the locket in my hand. I opened it up and the memory of my wife, my family hit me so hard. I close my eyes and cried quietly, but screaming a silent scream, then I heard my daughters voice and my sadness turned into anger. I grind my teeth and I said push harder, get to her she still alive and she needs you. I look around and I’m in a River and all along the shoreline I see bodies. I knew this river was deeper but it seems most of it evaporated during the blast. I looked at my service truck upside down in the water and possibly the tires saved me they melted around the cab in the water, it must have kept me from frying. The water was so hot, I swam to the shoreline, oh my god when I saw the bodies it was like they were melted from the inside out. They I heard push harder clear as day and I ran up a hill but only to see the city destroyed and on fire. I started running down the street from the downtown area, seeing people melted in their cars the smell made me choke from the burning flesh. I ran for about 2 miles when I fell and started to cough blood. A pile of debris that used to be a convenient store, I started searching through it and I found water bottles. Then again like if someone was standing next to me I heard the words push, push on. There wasn’t another living soul in the area everyone was dead. I grabbed a bag and filled it up with water bottles, the water help my throat but I kept coughing blood. I found a bike that was damage but it still worked I open the locket and remembered a good memory of all of us riding bikes down a big hill that my daughter thought was scary. With tears in my eyes I rode that bike as fast as I could, headed home. We lived in the country outside the city and I was almost there. I saw people and the houses and the trees were not burnt like in the city. I must have made it out of the blast zone. I stopped in front of my house and I threw the bike down and I ran to the front door. When I entered I saw my daughters face, I saw tears in her eyes but then her face lit up like the sun when she saw me and I gave her the locket and she opened it and I was home.

Grandma’s story’s
My grandmother told me always to wear a hat when you work in the sun because when she was about 12 years of age she almost died from heat stroke. She told me the story about how she crossed into America from Mexico with her father when she was about 12 but her mother gave birth to her brother and her mother didn’t make it across she actually died giving birth and they had to bury her in Mexico it was right at the exact time they were going to cross. My grandmother told me that she kind of hated her brother and blamed him for her mothers death but that my great grandfather always read the Bible and always believed in god and his love cured that. She knew that he was hurt because sometimes she would catch him crying but he never tried to show it. I don’t know the exact year that this all happened but there were no cars she told me that her father had known somebody that went to work on a plantation so they were headed that way. When they got there they shared a shed 10‘ x 10‘ with three other families it was just for sleeping so most of the time she was outside she took care of her brother and eventually she started working with her father picking cotton. The days were long and hot they work when the sun came up and they stop working with the sun went down and they were trying to save enough money to go to a better place where they heard it was better work picking fruits and vegetables. One day was so hot she was out there picking cotton and she started to feel dizzy, started to lose her balance, started to see purple and red spots and eventually she passed out because of the heat. She wasn’t wearing a hat, she wasn’t wearing anything over her head. The other workers and her father carried her to a bed in the shed and eventually they got the owner of the plantation to send a doctor and when the doctor came she said that her brain had boiled inside her head due to the heat. The doctor didn’t think she was going to make it, she fell into a coma. My grandmother said for 6 weeks she was in a coma but every morning and every night she can hear her father praying and reading the Bible to her. Until one day she woke up out of the coma and her father cried saying thank God I knew that you would come back to me my daughter, praise god! After that he didn’t want to work in the fields but she knew that it was just him working so eventually she convinced him and he told her always wear a hat or a cachucha, something covering up your head. Later on her father had made enough money to go to a better plantation where they treated the workers better and it was more pay and he actually knew one of the managers a friend of his, the first friend that told him about the first plantation that they went to work at. This story was about a widowed white lady that her husband just recently died. Although my grandmother never said her name the foreman that answered to her was my great grandmothers fathers best friend he spoke English and Spanish at this time my grandmother and my great grandfather we’re learning English. On this plantation there was always big thunderstorms and sometimes tornadoes one had come through and tore up a bunch of the crops in the mills where they store the food. The next day after a big storm my grandmother and her father went to the main house and saw them throwing a bunch of the food in the river because it was damage from the storm. Then my grandmother’s father asked his friend the manager to ask the lady if they can have some other the bags of food and God would bless her. When she heard this she got angry and went and stood in front of his face and said you people are “always begging” your people are meant to be lower than me who is your God he’s not real why am I rich and you’re poor. Then to show how rich she was she took off a diamond ring and she said see this diamond ring is worth more than you’ll ever be and she threw it into the river and said tell your God to bring it back to me if he’s real and if he exist and then she told her manager shoot anyone trying to take any of the food out of the river. My grandmother said she was always behind her father and even though she was mad he didn’t get mad because at dinner time he prayed for the lady and my grandmother was upset because of this. Then my great-grandfather had met another worker that he knew that said there’s a better ranch where they send your kids to school to learn and it pays more and the bosses loves all people. So they moved and it was true grandmother and her brother started going to school and her father became a manager and one day he ran into his friend that was manager at the widows ranch and they hugged and said praise God you’re doing fine my friend and the manager from the widows ranch said did you hear about the lady. My grandmother was always behind her father so she heard everything he said a great storm came and took down the all the mills and took out all the fields of food and it became so bad that she had to start selling off the land to pay the workers one day the fishers brought in some fish to the maids one of the maids cut open a fish and there was a diamond ring in it and they knew it was a ladies ring so they took it straight to her She said look what I found for you thinking she would be pleased. She remembered what she said about god and she got angry and threw it out the window and cursed god at that time another maid was cleaning up outside and found the ring and went and put it on the ladies dresser and again the lady saw the ring on her dresser and got angry and screamed and threw it. He said he watched her as great worry came over her he had to tell her he was leaving for a better job offer but she was going crazy so it took a while. Then he went to tell her as she was rocking in the rocking chair smoking cigarette after cigarette. He told her also god bless you after he said good bye and she attacked him. Then the day came that she lost everything he got word from another worker that the last I saw of her she was barefooted in the streets begging for food because she had lost everything. These are a few bed time stories that my grandmother told me to wear a hat in the sun to believe god and always share food with people that are hungry and in need because god will bless you.
