Lord and Master of the Black Market Part 2-2
The Sentinels got into place quickly. Ramses leaned against the entrance dome of the hotel rooftop, hidden from the staircase, as the shadows on the roof fled from the bright moon—a waxing gibbous, not quite full but full enough that it cast plenty of silvery light. He turned his face up to the light. It was not the sun, merely its distant reflection, but it still felt good.

Lord and Master of the Black Market Part 1-2
3 Years Prior The cries of the wounded had not entirely abated as Azerie Ramses of Light, Supreme Justice, Lord of the Azerie, and Triumvir, marched through the carnage. He wore black like the Sentinels, but that was where the similarities ended. Thin, gold stripes adorned the cuffs of his sleeves. A patch with a blazing sun and the words Lord of the Sun written below it was stitched on the right shoulder. On the left were the Sentinels' emblem of scales and olive branches and the word Azerie above it. Tied around his waist was a gold sash with a sun embroidered on the end and holding the sash in place was a black pin of the Order’s stylized A. To ward off the winter’s chill, he wore a heavy black cloak that billowed behind him as he walked.

Triumvirs
The truism of location, location, location was distinctly unamusing when word came the unit was moved to the citadel. It was like living on the TNS Epaphras all over again. The room was the size of a cabin on an ocean liner. There was a twin bed on the left and a narrow wardrobe on the right with a built-in desk. The minuscule bathroom was all of twenty-five square feet.

Prince Among Paupers
Sentinel Lieutenant Walter Otarion loved cake. He knew he shouldn’t since health and fitness were paramount to his job, but he really loved cake. When he saw the little tin of chocolate cupcakes Sergeant Ironsi and Senior Scout Velds procured for him, he lifted his eyes to the ceiling in a silent prayer of thanks.

Knight Among Jackals
Dates within the Sentinel Corps were a tricky business. Relationships within the same unit were severely frowned upon, especially between an officer and enlisted. It was normal practice for enlisted to receive transfers when they became romantically involved with their commanding officer. Since taking command of the unit, Sentinel Lieutenant Walter Otarion could count the number of times he’d been on a date on one hand. There was little opportunity to meet girls outside of work, until now.

There was no resting under the sun. It was a saying from his days working the coffee plantation. While the sun was up, everyone worked, and not just the hired hands but the Madam too. Even after sunset, she was in the office of the estate house working. It wasn’t until he became an officer that he learned the true meaning of administration.
